I agree, Grizz, BUT IDK if i want this kid out there if webb gets hurt. Chicago Bears fans (myself included) are a ruthless lot. If Webb goes down and this kid starts to fail, he needs to tell himself they're calling for "Moose", or it could get to him...

I hear Pam here is pretty fond of providing that service. Anyone have her number?

Henry you've got a really good point here. That swing OT position is more important on this team than many think it is. That guy needs to be able to step in at either OT's spot and hold his own. When Carimi went out last year who did we have playing swing OT. OMG that's who and his failure at RT meant we had to move another OG (Louis) out to play RT which, in addition to not doing all that well himself, also put him farther behind in his development at OG.

Webb hasn't been injured so far but Carimi has and we've also lost CWill twice to injuries so at least two of the three OT's have injury histories. If we've learned anything this offseason it's that Emery will not allow the Bears to under prepared at key positions again. That's what most of FA was about. Bush, Campbell, Hayden, Wilhite, Rachal, Collins, Price are all players signed to add depth at key spots.

CWill represents experienced depth at both spots which may or may not be needed but he's currently the best insurance policy we have for that role. If James Brown continues to develop as an OT maybe he can be trusted with it but right now we don't know that and Tice needs to get these guys selected and let them work together. He already knows CWill can play LG so if Spencer fails and later on Brown can step in at either OT spot maybe it all changes but for now I can see why Tice is going the way he is.

Couldn't agree more. Tice has a plan and is hedging his bet against injuries by providing the best depth rotation possible for the "O" line. We may not understand it in whole at this point but I trust in his abilities to do so.
