Wow that was interresting ... I merely spoke what the whole NFL knows about and got slammed on it bigtime by some of my best freinds.

I'm only worried about the one big issue of the TEAM gentlemen, the OFFENSIVE LINE.

Now every fucking buddy knows where the weakness of DAA BEARRSSe has been the past few seasons ...

would you disagree with me that CUTLER being treated like an Iraqi target in a U.S. Navy missile strike ...

    is not a good thing?

All i'm saying is this and lets come to our senses here ...

    WE NEED AN OFFENSIVE LINE.

The rest of the team is pure gravy.

You give me FIVE players at OFFENSIVE LINE that can play 16 games ...

I'll put your ass in the SUPERBOWL motherfucker.

Now you just give me that.

I have not forgotten the last couple of years of having one of the worst OL in the NFL. Nothing says idiot more than trading a boat load of draft picks for a qb and then doing jack to provide him a supporting cast. Trading Olsen which was one of Jays targets away for a draft pick was classic Angelo. The WR issue has been addressed for now since Jerry failed big time at drafting or picking up a good WR. I still think Lovie needs to go and this GM that has been making great moves needs to bring in his people and hopefully win us a SB before Urlacher retires.

In a way , it was like wasting 3 years of Cutty's career. Hopefully they're done shitting around and will keep adding what he needs to thrive .

The Olsen trade wasn't bad. He hasn't been anything special as a pro and the 3rd we got from him was used to bring Marshall in. And all those draft picks sent in that trade by the "idiot" got Chicago its much needed franchise QB. Its not easy building a line when you've had to sacrifice your top picks in 2 drafts because you're trying to end a carousel at the most important position (QB). So its all a matter of perspective. The lack of a QB has been killing this team for far too long. But we're over that hump now.

Along with Peppers and the rest ? (Did you know that the DL was ranked 6th out of 32 teams in sacks last year with 30? The line got some sacks and some pressure but we don't blitz much so that's why overall our pass rush ranking was lower. There better rushers in camp this year than last so what do you believe?)

Garcia at Center ... Tice better be on to this. (That's Garza)

It's all in the trenches ... we get Carimi back,

    at RT.

    Whos playing LT?

We had the chance to get one in the draft. (Who? Matt Kalil went long before #19 and the other top picks were all projected at RT. So we signed a good LT prospect after the draft. James Brown and he brought his new bag with him.)

Whose LT? And how long will he last? (Only "The Shadow" knows.....and Tice)

If Carimi can go 16 games, Cutler doesnt have anything to fear,
    at RT.

LEFT TACKLE ... thats where the fear comes into the mind.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. Frank Herbert, Dune

Lighten up, Francis. Here try one of mine. We've only just begun.

Webb is gonna be at LT this Thursday against the "Donks" and he'll be staying there for just about as long as he doesn't false start twice, get called for holding a couple of times and allow Cutler to get sacked three times by his guy all in one game. Maybe he's finally "getting it", who knows, but were about to find out.

The plan is pretty clear at the moment. Webb stays at LT and Brown starts working behind him. CWill becomes the swing OT which is probably good because he's already proven that he can adapt to multiple positions. He's started at three of the five and I think he played some OC in camp last year. We need somebody dependable at swing OT and he's it. No more OMG's or playing musical linemen when somebody goes down and everyone has to shift one chair over.

At least this time if Webb falls on his puss CWill can step in and relieve him without needing to revamp half the line. I've been thinking about it and I can see why this makes sense. If they put CWill back at LG and Webb fails or gets hurt then the whole left side of the line changes instead of just plugging CWill in at LT.

Just because he starting now doesn't mean Webb is a lock to keep it without question. Let's watch how Brown develops because so far the reports on him from camp have been very good. He doesn't have Webb's size but he's strong, nasty, and has a big reach. You don't need to be 6'8" and 330lbs to be able to get in someones way and stay there until the ball is gone. Who knows, by December Brown may be playing LT.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I like it: the upgrades we needed at:

backup QB (better than we expected)

    backup RB (see above)

WR (Need I say more? BTW, AGAIN, Evan Rodriguez is lookin' like our smaller, faster version of Kleinsasser)

Oline (maybe not as we need, exactly, but the backup LT is still gonna be better than we've had of note; and we picked up a vet for the line here or there)

Dline (not improved drastically, but with an offense that is likely to keep on the field longer, and an added pure pass rusher, expect more from the same)

CB (opposite of Tillman better play his heart out, because there's gonna be someone competent waiting to chomp at the bit, much better than before)

    FS (Conte's getting smarter)

SS (Major Wright's put up or shut up year, Hardin breathing down his neck)

K (anyone notice Robbie's leg strength has been getting better?)

P (dude was 6th in the league last year, but with better field position, it's gonna be tougher on the opposing offenses)

KR (Weems is a better compliment to Hester than Knox, at least for the time being)

All those are positions I see as being vastly upgraded, and rewatch highlights of the NFCN of a few years ago, do you think Jason Campbell will be as horrid as Collins? Do you think Tice will call dumbass plays like Martz, that end the game for us? We may not win it all, but this is the best year to do it, unless some of the younger guys pick it up even more next year...

Soul, I completely understand the logic of keeping CW at swing OT. Huge upgrade over OMG. Good for the team even though it doesn't bode well for CW's future contract. Just a bummer he's likely out at LG where he was pretty damn good last year. Remains to be seen if Spencer or Rachal can match that.
