Bears sign former Rush, Illini DE Walker.

    Tribune report 4:24 p.m. CDT, August 7, 2012

The Chicago Bears brought another defensive end into training camp in Bourbonnais on Tuesday, signing Derek Walker to a one-year contract.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Walker played for Illinois and signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He spent part of the 2012 season with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League.

The Bears cleared a roster spot for Walker by waiving undrafted rookie free agent tackle Tyler Hendrickson.

I haven't followed closely enough to know if Shea was having a rough camp. I know he had a bad first day, but I thought I heard he improved. Anyway, this signing likely has nothing to do with Shea since they can't expect an Arena League guy to step in and pick up whatever slack their first round pick may have left.

This move combined with our other arena guy (Rashied Davis) virtually assures us the Super Bowl. Jerry Angelo would be proud.

Although, I'd feel even better if we could re-sign Air Currie from the Canadian Football League, and maybe add a swimming pool jumper into the mix. Then we'd be a lock for the SB win.

Can't we sign Roy Williams back too? Mr. Mittens. It can get cold in the last part of the season.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

Forget Mr. Mittens, leaving no stone unturned means :

Finally, Emery's crew has the scouting department's attention!
I'm not being sexist either (okay, shades of grey...mabey), if I was there would be bikini league pictures.
Ohh, the horror that would bring, keeping it real, keeping it "G" rated.

I will say though, it does not matter where these players come from really. What matters is that the organization does not appear to be just "settling" with anyone. Hope the front office keeps them coming.
