I think gravity is still a problem and Jay will have a few thrown balls hit the ground which will kill his passer rating.

I think gravity is still a problem and Jay will have a few thrown balls hit the ground which will kill his passer rating.

At kickoff ,Jay will suspend gravity for Bears players ( offense only ), thus guarranteing ( f that word i can't spell it ) that every play will be a TD pass and the final score of every game will be 397 - 24.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

I don't see Vollmer as a solution for us. Like MP says he's really a RT and I really don't see the Bears shifting Carimi over to LT or spending big FA $$$ on an OT unless he's a vet LT. It's really not about Vollmer but rather the position he's built to play.
Now Bushrod is always a possibility but if he is I think HIS play would need to get better too. Better than Webb? Thus far yes but much above a journeyman LT, no. Depends on who else is out there but I wouldn't put Bushrod at the very top of the list.
Now Jake Long, well there my friend you have a point. A really good one. IF he's healthy, and IF Miami is crazy enough to let him go, and IF the Bears were willing to spend the small fortune it would take to sign him then I'd love to see Jake Long wearing a Navy Blue #77 and playing LT for Chicago. It's kind of a pipe dream but with Emery running the show now and making bold moves to plug holes who knows. I say as far as LT is concerned "go big or go home".
Before we get too excited though this is what we're looking at in $$$. This was his LAST contract signed in 2008.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
Honey Badger Don't Care. Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit.

Holy *****!!!!
Where we gonna get $12 mill in cap space? That's 4 times Webb's annual Taco Bell expenditures!

Long won't get THAT high of a Cap hit again with his problems

I don't know where everyone is getting this crazy idea that Bushrod isn't a good LT. He did make the Pro Bowl in 2011, so that makes him one of the very best in the NFL right now. Is he as good as Jake Long? No. But then again, as far as I know, Bushrod has never had health issues like Long has had.
I'd take either one. I'd rather have Jake Long, but Bushrod suits me just fine.

Long would make more sense and should be easier to get![]()

Cap space? IF we have it and IF he's healthy and IF he's available, then I would hope Emery wouldn't whiff pathetically like JA did last year. Barring a major jump this season, it should be abundantly clear that Webb isn't starting (long-term) LT material. He can compete with Brown and/or a new draftee for a reserve spot in PS next year.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

That's true about it being a popularity contest, but I also know that very rarely does a ballplayer get into the Pro Bowler without being at least a very good player, if not elite. While Bushrod has never been named First Team All-Pro, he did make it to the Pro Bowl last year, and we all know that New Orleans had one of the very best offensive lines in the league with him, Evans, and at one time, Carl Nicks. I just don't know how Bushrod can be considered anything but a great talent by any football rag with those credentials.
