A great LT is almost as difficult to draft as a franchise QB. Can you "make one" from an UFA like Brown. Maybe. Just like you may be able to coach up an UFA player into a franchise QB. It's been done before (for both positions).

But don't kid yourself. It's about 100 to 1 shot for either.

In the NFL you mostly "get what you pay for" in an LT or QB. Invest a quality high round draft pick into either, and you up your chances of getting what you want. If you reach into the toilet and expect to pull one out in the 7th round, you get Webb (or worse).

p.s. I think Brown may be this year's Air Currie. Lotta talk. Let's see what really pans out with him before we "crown" him.

Ric, for the love of God, quit harping on Mike Adams so damn much. The OT I would have taken in the draft who was easily available for us at the nineteenth pick would have been Riley Reiff. He is perhaps the only other possibility out of the OTs in this draft who might be able to play LT as a rookie. Detroit obviously wised up and got him, though my suspicions tell me that he may start out at RT since as far as I know they've still got Jeff Backus playing LT. Reiff could easily wind up at LT this year for the Lions if Backus goes down, and to be honest with you, I think he'll do well since he came from a school in Iowa that is known for churning out stud offensive linemen, just like Wisconsin.

I just want to make sure that I didn't misunderstand him. So last week he wanted to be able to run the ball. Admitedly, we weren't able to and so his solution is to move onto pass protection.

Hey boss, you know that project you wanted me to do? I know I really messed it up and didn't get it done. So what you want me to do now? Well, how about fixing the issues on last weeks project instead of moving to something else!!! Wow, I know I'd be more than upset if one of my managers took that attitude.

And my feeling on why he is losing sleep is because he told the whole world that we were ok on the OL, and now very publicly he has to admit that neither plan A nor plan B can seemingly get it done. Once again, not a pleasant conversation to have with your boss.

The Redskins are supposed to have a good pass rush, so it will be interesting to see what happens on Saturday. I can't wait.

Tice has looked like a buffoon ever since the "Love Boat" scandal and the "Randy Ratio" with the Vikings. How can anyone expect to take the man seriously now when he could have addressed our offensive line issues in 2011 by vocalizing his concerns to Jerry Angelo which would have hopefully resulted in the acquisition of Jermon Bushrod's contract? Bushrod is up for free agency this year, and it's highly likely that the Saints might not be able to re-sign him due to cap concerns.

You know, I've been known to have wild hairs grow up my ass from time to time. At this point, I've got one. Why don't we trade a draft pick for Bushrod this year and see if the Saints bite? Most likely, he could be had with a first or second rounder and maybe one other pick. At this point, you do what you can to win now because the window that supposedly has been open since 2005 and 2006 when the Bears were one of the best teams in the NFL? That's closing very fast.
