Here's who all is available according to WalterFootball.com in the first round of the 2013 Draft:

    1. St. Louis Rams: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Rams will give Rodger Saffold and Jason Smith another shot this year. At least one of them will likely disappoint in 2012, so Jeff Fisher will probably search for a tackle next spring. Fisher played against the Texans twice per year when he was with Tennessee, and he watched Houston completely ruin David Carr's career by not building a competent offensive line around him. He won't want to make the same mistake with Sam Bradford.

New Orleans Saints: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
I wrote this in a previous update: "The Saints are hosting the Super Bowl this year, which means something awful is going to happen and they're going to be drafting in the top 10. That's how these things work. Just ask Colt fans." Hmm... think Bountygate qualifies? Sean Payton won't be coaching next year, which could really hurt New Orleans. That would explain why it's drafting No. 17 overall.

At any rate, the Saints will need an offensive tackle next spring if they can't re-sign free agent-to-be Jermon Bushrod. Bushrod isn't that good to begin with, so New Orleans could stand to find an upgrade.

Dallas Cowboys: Barrett Jones, G/C/OT, Alabama
The interior of Dallas' offensive line is an abomination. The front office actually found two downgrades at guard this offseason, while center Phil Costa is a sieve. Barrett Jones can play all three positions, as well as right tackle.

Carolina Panthers: Chris Faulk, OT, LSU
Jeff Otah is entering a make-or-break year because he'll be a free agent next March. If he can't stay healthy, the Panthers will move on with a new right tackle.

San Francisco 49ers: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M: Anthony Davis surrendered 10 sacks in 2011. If he can't get his act together next year, it could be his last in San Francisco.

Baltimore Ravens: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Ozzie Newsome needs to find a successor for Ray Lewis. He also has to secure one for Bryant McKinnie. Joe Flacco might be the best quarterback in the NFL, but even he needs protection on the blind side.

Houston Texans: Ricky Wagner, OT, Wisconsin
The Texans were interested in bringing in a right tackle early in the 2012 NFL Draft, but they never got the chance. Well, here's their opportunity. The position will have to be addressed if Rashad Butler can't properly fill in for Eric Winston.

I love Te'o, but he'll go fairly high. He'll be the first non pass rushing LB taken. Heck, he probably would've been a first round pick this year, so there's no reason to think that he wouldn't be next year.

Most sites have the Bears picking late in the first round, around 27 or 28. Depending on who does the draft on WalterFootball.com, you'll see one person (Charlie Campbell) placing the Bears at pick 28, while the official site mock has them coming in at 27. Either way, the team is picked to make the playoffs.

I'm interested in seeing what every one thinks of this year's class of OTs. None were picked any higher on the two mocks I read than 16th. That tells me that this isn't a very deep class, or at least not one that just stands out head and shoulders above everyone else.

I hope it's just that one isn't head and shoulders above the rest - and we can get a solid one.
    Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Yeah, tell me about it, 99. I don't think there's going to be one who is LT worthy or who would be ready to assume the role right away. Most likely, we will have to look to free agency to solve that problem, to someone like Bushrod, who is a free agent at the end of the season. I doubt the Saints are going to be able to re-sign him due to cap reasons. If that's the case, we would have four OTs - Bushrod, Carimi, Webb, and Brown, and we would have the option, then, of simply sticking CWill in at LG where he plays his best ball. Then the question becomes what to do with all of those tackles. Do you keep all four of them for depth purposes, or do you cut one?

CWill is never going to amount to anything in his career because of the way the Bears' coaching staff has handled his development. He came in under terrible circumstances with the failures and shortcomings from the Orlando Pace signing that blew up in Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith's face, and now he's about to get jerked over to LT after spending the past two seasons playing almost exclusively at LG. I'm sure that he would love to get away from this franchise and go somewhere where he might develop into a decent player. I think it's a little late for him to blossom into a Pro Bowl now.

The entire Bears organization has jacked up the CW situation all along. First by drafting a 3rd round talent in the top 10, then by mis-playing him and moving him all over creation which impeded his development. Yeah, injuries hurt too. The result is a guy who could/should be a decent "B" quality OG who now undoubtedly hates it here and surely wants out after this year (as it stands right now).

    What a waste...

Funny. Though it's a small sample size , I don't ever remember the problems at LT being this big when CWill was playing there ( as compared to Webb ). Huh ......
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

You may get your wish, bhs. Tice is clearly pissed at Webb for making him look bad and is out of patience. Spoke of him in the 3rd person recently. Problem is, if CW plays LT--which I don't mind at all--who plays LG?

Maybe EWill or Rachal but Spencer looked like ass there last week.

Fk em . Fk em in the ear . ALL the non-hackers and the entitlement babies. Put Henry in there. At least he battles and plays like he wants to be in there , unlike some of these guys who act like they're just doing some job. Whens the last time you saw one of these hacks in the locker-room after a loss, who actually seemed like he genuinely cared about winning the game and who wasn't talking in cliches.

(That doesn't include all of them. But some of them ? Damn right )

I want Fluker. What a great name to have fun with around here. I can't wait......trade up if we need to but whatever we need to draft DJ Fluker. Besides guys with initials instead of first names do alright in Chicago.
