It's hard to disagree with the main thrust of this article. Thanks for posting it Soul. I think it summarizes what a lot of us "dumb fans" see and believe.

On Saturday, close the book on this shit. Play CW and Webb extensively at LT. And then on Sunday, review the tape and MAKE A FRAKKIN DECISION THAT YOU STICK WITH, Tice!

I think it's prob gonna be Webb, like it or not. If so, then get your BEST LG IN AT LG! That means CW there. The other positions are set anyway. But, as Ric has pointed out to me before, Tice seems determined to make CW into the swing reserve guy which removes the best starting LG option from the lineup. Very frustrating!

Ok time to relate something I heard on the radio today ( and don't shoot the messenger ... this ain't me talking ) .... it's Hub Arkush : who said today, from watching camp, that basically " Cwill is terrible and he wonders why he's even still in camp " as in, he's a flop who should be cut. That was the jist of it ... that and " whether people like it or not Webb, chuckle chuckle, is gonna be the starter at LT cuz it's all they got ".

Has Hub been wrong bout stuff before ? Yep ... but he's also been right ( a much higher % of the time than he's been wrong ).
So there it is - FWIW.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Ya people don't like Hub b/c he is brutally honest; and for a Bears reporter that is rare; most try to at least sugar coat the fact. But Hub has been following the team longer then most and he knows what he's seeing.

It's not good that CWill is THAT bad. And it's a shame that Webb is there by default. If he's that bad, I wish they would move him back to G where he was at least above average.

But if Hub is saying CW should be cut, then that implies that the OG's they have are also better the CW, NO?
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

    Hmmmmm.

And Tice is saying that neither CWill nor Webb are able to do any better than the other. If the two are pretty much equal and CWill sucks.....

Well, Tice .... how bout that line being ok?

This is why Tice is losing sleep.

However, after taking my obligatory daily shot at both Tice and the OL, I know I have seen CWill be serviceable and Webb has had a decent stretch also. Are either one good? Maybe not. Are they both trash? Probably not. Well... the jury is still out on Webb.

    Exactly.
So 1 thing CAN be the difference between :
    - being a great team or just an ok one
    - winning the SB or not because of one dropped pass ( Patriots )
    - winning the SB because of one caught pass ( Giants )

Yet , even tho some of our guys sucked at blocking ( in a pre-season game no less ... when it should be easier ) they're gonna be ok " once we start game planning " ? Huh ?

Well we're just running vanilla stuff so don't read much into it . So these guys are gonna be better when we're NOT running vanilla stuff ? Huh ?
Well we'll be better when we use the TE's to help with the blocking. Ok . Ok for running plays , but I thought we were gonna use the TE's more in the passing game this year so what happens when they run a pattern and aren't in to help with the blocking.
.... sorry just having a hard time following the 'logic' goin on here.

Yeah one thing CAN ( and prob WILL ) f'up the season - and we go from what coulda been a great team to just an ok one.

Carimi got hurt, but no reason to think he has no talent. Garza/Louis all showed to be good at what they do last year. Spencer did to last year, but he is struggling this year at LG. But the problem is Webb is moving CWill from LG b/c of his big ol bag of suck and now Spen now has to fill that gap.

That was proved last year when Cutler/Tice forced Martz away from his stupid system of getting qb's killed and went to a more line friendly O.

Webb is the majority of the problem. I'm all for more talent on the OL, but none of it will matter until LT is fixed.
There it is, right there in bold faced italicized black and white. J'Marcus Webb is the majority of the problem and for two years we've been shifting people around, drafting/sigining OTs, bringing in vet talent elsewhere all for the sake of somehow trying to make it work around that dummy as part of the starting lineup!

Enough! Put him at LT and leave him there again until he either get's it and becomes an NFL caliber starter or by a few games into the season he's so hopelessly buried again by his incompetence that we sit his ass and replace him once and for all. It's time to end this farce. This is his 3rd year. Either he can do it or he can't so let's find out now if he can or move on.

I know it is just PS still but......where is that dude with the "bag of dicks" all us Webb-skeptics were supposed to eat?

We aren't the only NFL team with OL 'issues'. We are just the only team to have them for so long.

Yeah, 'bout 25 years or so wouldn't you say?
