I too like to look ahead. When the O line is revamped next season it will again be good news bad news merry-go-round shuffle but let's hope for the last time-at least for awhile.

Maybe it was only one sack and one penalty but he was going up against camp fodder most of the game and we didn't exactly light it up with our running game against the Donkey's. What would the game have looked like if he'd been asked to block Dumervil all game long, or pick up Von Miller blitzing. Tice must have seen something that bothered him. It's either that or he's just continuing to play mind games with him at CWill's expense.

But in the end Webb will be Webb. It's his third year and he either improves enough to show that he can be the LT for years to come or he can't. If he can't we either need to look to James Brown as a possibility or we're in for a very expensive swing at a FA LT next March. Houston just gave Duane Brown a 6 year $53.4 mil extension and if Miami lets Jake Long walk you could easily add $20 mil to that amount.

I don't believe CWill is gonna beat Webb out and if I'm right we need to move him back to LG immediately and not park him at swing tackle. Unless for some reason his play has deteriorated that badly he's still one of the best five lineman and he should be starting. If Tice will stop playing musical lineman and get these guys set and start working them as a unit them by the fourth or fifth game I think they just might become a decent until but every week that goes by pushes that possibility back even father.

So am I concerned? Yeah I am but not the point of saying the whole line is useless.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I still think that is going to be good enough to get us where we need to go this year. I'm a "glass half full" guy.

Hey check out my 1st ever Bears jersey. 50+ years as a Bears fan, but never did have a jersey until today. I just got it from my wife for my birthday (I've got a good wife ).

Happy Birthday Bruh! Tell wifey that is one cool jersey. Did you come up with the "GS Halas" or was that by request. Either way; cool idea! I was thinking about asking for a Nagurski jersey for Christmas, but I never even thought about Halas.

By the way, "Glass half full" people generally enjoy much happier lives. Keep up the "good thoughts".

I was shameless dropping hints for that jersey. Even our cat has a jersey (Julius Peppers jersey by the way). But poor old Dad? No love man. Until yesterday.

And I'm a HUGE Halas fan. I wanted HIS jersey number, but on a more modern jersey.
Halas was a great athlete. Played outfield for the New York Yankees before playing in the NFL.

In 1919 he was the Rose Bowl MVP.

He was an All-Pro defensive end who also played wide receiver.

This is from the NFL Hall of Fame site:

During his incredible career he filled the shoes of owner, manager, player, and promoter, and was an influential leader among the NFL’s ownership. It was, however, as a coach that he excelled and was best known. Although Halas coached his Bears for 40 seasons, he stepped away from the coaching ranks three times – 1930-1932, 1942-1945 (to serve in the military), and 1956-1957.

Each time a rejuvenated Halas returned to the sidelines to coach and won an NFL championship. Twice, in 1934 and 1942, Halas’ teams had undefeated regular-season records. His 318 regular-season wins and 324 total victories were long-standing NFL records until broken by Don Shula in 1993.

His Chicago Bears teams won six NFL titles, the first coming in 1921 after the Staleys moved to Chicago. George's Bears won three other divisional titles and finished second 15 times. Only six of Halas' 40 teams finished below the .500 mark.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

That's awesome 99! I can tell you are a fellow enthusiast of NFL history. I guess when you start getting to be our age, you enjoy history a bit more. LOL

I knew all of the above about Halas except for his stint with the Yankees. I must admit, you got me on that one. When did he find time to do all that? Quite a guy, our George!
