Like I said in another thread about a week ago, Webb gets all the bad raps for this o-line, but there is plenty of bad to go around. I'll give credit where credit is due, they did not look bad last week, but they still did not look "good". As much attention as is given to our LT spot, the guard spots (on both sides in my opinion) are not stater quality. That said, every year brings new opportunities and there is nothing that says these guys can't get better. My guess is that by week three, we'll know if we have a serviceable NFL Offensive Line this year, or if it's another "Oh crap" year.

Both have been even less impressive there than Webb at LT. So, I'll stand by my original sentiment in saying this OL is best with Webb at LT and CWill at LG. It's the most blatantly obvious move we can make to ensure we have our best five possible bookend to bookend.

If we can pick up a vet off waivers who could actually fill in at swing tackle I'd go along with that but if not then we have zip for a reserve OT except Brown. Lacking another vet OT I think we're better off not starting CWill right now. Wait 'til the dust settles after a few games.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

And waste all that talent Chris Williams has? Absolutely not. You can still him install in at LG and have Edwin Williams ready to go in his place if Webb goes down or proves to be utterly ineffective so that Chris Williams can be plugged in at LT. I don't know what it is about this concept that is so hard for people to grasp, Tice or whomever. We have actually gotten worse on the line since Tice has been in charge than we were before him in my opinion.

It's not a waste. He'd be one snap away from starting somewhere the second somebody got injured or misses a game of two rehabbing a minor dinger. I'd give that about a 70% chance of happening before the season is half over. Carimi still isn't 100%.
Or, Webb once again fails to live up to expectations after a few games and Tice and Bates get tried of seeing their QB either on his back or running for his life and "taco boy" takes a seat. EWill isn't even on the depth chart at LG right now. If you put CWill there either Spencer or Rachal would back him.

Brown and actually they say I think his name is corey brandon was even doing better
Williams couldnt play RT worth shit so I think he is a bad candidate for swing tackle imo

Granted, Carimi isn't 100%, and might never get back to full strength - we just don't know. But at the same time, we have plenty of depth at G with Rachal, Spencer, Williams (assuming that he doesn't get cut), and Louis, so I don't understand this bullshit of how we cannot afford to stick CWill in at LG when even though you have an unknown commodity in James Brown waiting in the wings for a chance at one of the tackle positions, you would still have the option of moving Chris Williams over to LT and putting Rachal or Spencer in at LG if worst came to worst. I don't understand your logic at all. But then again, no one ever accused me of being smart, or better still, anything but "hard-headed" and stubborn in my resolve.
