Not according to the announcers, they said it was Unga.

Dagan, maybe 10 years ago; but w/Forte getting 20-30 carriers, Bush getting probably 10-15, there is no room for Ung to get 8-10; not in todays league where you'll be passing 30-40 times. The average O last year only had about 60-70 plays a game. 70-30(qb)=40 20 for the prim rb=20-10 for the backup=10 for the rest of the rb's/fb. and allen/booker are going to get more looks then clutts b/c he and bush perform the same role of power back, while allen/booker are smaller faster rb's then Forte/Bush. That's also assuming you are running 10 more times then you are passing....a VERY conservative approach for a 70 play offense. More then likely it woule be 35 passes, which in turn is 5 for the 3 other rb's....and if you consider that Forte will probalby get 25 rushes that means there is no plays left for the other 3.

I wasn't watching at the time; there wasn't a good angle I could see when I did see the replay. But the announcers said it after the replay, and they have the guy's #'s on a cheat sheet. So I have no doubt that they got it right.

God, I hope that we don't throw the ball forty times a game. That would be a real travesty.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree then. I believe that there are certain instances in a percentage of the drives that running the fullback is useful, and those times usually come on first downs. They can give you three yards on the ground easily if the guards and center execute their blocking assignments well enough. Will the Bears do it? That remains to be seen, but I'm all for rotating as many runners out of the backfield into the game as is humanly possible. I would expect that if Tice does this, he'll run someone at the top of the "I" (where the fullback usually is positioned) forward. He might choose to put Bush in there at that position, so we don't know that for certain.

Gee, Ric! This is my fantasy you're tampering with here! lol

Sorry dag's, I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the Bears, or in todays NFL you can do it. 35-40 times a game is becoming the norm for passes. and you're not going to run more then pass anymore, it just doesn't happen. Even Tice in Minnisota did that it was closer to 50-50 but it still was slight to Pass. Now in a league geared towards passing....nah man it's just not practical. I'm sure there ARE instances when it makes sense to run the ball w/the FB, but I'm not sure it's 8-12 times a game.

He had another nice return tonight and some yardage of offense. Looks like based on that we may see him jump Allen for that #3 spot. A little more size, a little more experience and his KOR skills. Guess you're right.

It's all good, Ric. I really think that you're probably accurate in that we might see 5-6 times per game when the FB is run up the gut for yards. It just makes no sense to me why coaches don't use one more often as an element of surprise than they do.

Did you, like me, hear Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf say that Tice apparently told the media that the Bears may have two 1,000+ rushers on the team in both Forte and Bush?
