I am not saying they should release Urlacher. I posted the article for discussion sake and because he does make valid points as to why they COULD consider it. Will they? No. Should they? Depends how bad his knee is. I want what is best for the Bears. Whether that is cutting him or letting him try to play this year remains to be seen.
With his messed up knee, no one knows how he is going to perform this year.

Thanks for posting the thread, it sure raised a lot of good discussion. I agree none of us know for certain how this will play out. I think the odds are heavily in Urlacher's favor that he'll be back and do well for this year. Maybe even one more year. But, you're right, we don't know this for sure.
Brian Urlacher
Thanks For The Memories

TELANDER's an IDIOT! .... NO NO NO! .... You DON'T get rid of Urls just because he's down at the moment.
And you don't get rid of Urls ... PERIOD!!!!! .... EVER!

Telander had writer's block the other day. Based upon that, I doubt he will ever be able to effectively write an article again. I mean, how can we be sure, so we may as well have him fired now.
Telander=chicken little

As far as his doing well... I can not agree that the odds are in his favor there as well. His knee issues are a big question mark

Telander should go back to writing shitty hockey articles for the retarded new "fans" who carry W flags into the UC. He's a fucking hack.

There's no sense in cutting him.
If the injury was really THAT bad, then put him on IR, give him a year to recover, and let him play next year, and draft his replacement in the '13 draft. That way, Lach gets to retire on his own terms, and HE can decide if he still has enough left to play or not.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

I think it would be disrespectful to do to Brian Urlacher the way Jerry Angelo did Olin Kreutz. While Kreutz wasn't cut, he wasn't re-signed either, more because of the reasoning being used that it was age that was the problem. At some point, though, I do resign myself to the fact that the Bears will part ways with Urlacher, whether it be at the end of this season when he's on the free agent market or when they cut him sometime in the hopefully-distant future.
