Glad to hear that. I would have been sick if he took a roster spot away from a younger or more versatile player.

Like I said, he'll probably be out there and still available later for a re-signing if needed due to key ST injury.

There was a reason Det let him walk. Hell they had him as a CB, he couldn't even make their WR roster; to have lost Sanz for that lump would have sickened me also.

Maybe he can go back to Detroit and catch on as a RB. I hear their GM is looking for pretty much anything right now...

Funny how KBell hasn't been signed yet....maybe that paycut would have been a smart financial move.

    I totally agree.

Seriously, RB's with skill-levels the same as KBell are a dime a dozen. I'm not saying he doesn't have average talent. He does. But there is a boatload of those guys everywhere you look (and every year a new herd of them come out of college).

    Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

and those guys don't fumble as much as he did last year.

his usefullness was depleted when Forte signed. Amazing how he went from a quality two according to all the news/radio guys to an afterthought once the Bears signed Forte.

Yeah, I was thinking if he took that pay cut and "played ball" he'd still have a job.

Yeah, did you notice how the team seemed to send him a little message about how he was over-valuing himself?

They flew him to NYC for the game, released him, and sent him right back to the airport 2 hours after landing.

Someone will pick Bell up. He's good enough to share a starting role with most teams. If the Packers hadn't just signed Benson I think they would have been interested and they may still be interested.

After the cuts are made and rosters set my guess is he'll find somebody who'll want him. Wherever he ends up he'll have a new offense to learn too so it's actually to his advantage not to be asked to come in and compete with someone right now. My guess is a team picks him up after they set there #1 and #2 backs and brings him in as a #3 while he picks up their offense.

I liked the kid. Despite a small case of "fumbleitis" he was a pretty damn good back but keeping a #3 RB who was costing you more than $1.2 mil isn't something most teams will do. The Bears offered him about $700k if he wanted to stick around. He knows he can probably get that somewhere else where he has a chance at moving up in the rotation and getting to a #2 or even a #1 spot later this year or next. This just gave him a head start on the direction he'd have gone in anyway.

Either Allen or Booker give us a more elusive type back with better "big play" potential anyway. I wish Bell success but we reached the point where we didn't need him all that badly.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
