Part of the problem has been an overall lack of talent (with some notable exceptions). But Lovie has made his share of bonehead decisions too. Some of that is to be expected when you hire a guy win no head coaching experience. But now he has better all around talent (except for an offensive line), and he's experienced as a HC now.

Once he gets an NFL-level oline (now that he finally has a "real" NFL quarterback & WR's to work with), then it will be interesting to see what happens. No excuses at that point.

IF by some odd chance the team has an epic fail due to the oline having an epic fail this year, then I could see that they may sweep Lovie out of here. I'm not sure that is fair or wise. But somebody will have to take the fall. Fan expectations are through the roof for this year. IF we are 3rd in the NFC-N again, then watch the ax fall on Lovie's neck.

i agree jabf talent on this team especially on offense has been pretty shoddy. And it really shows especially last season with how many udfa made the final

idk if we would dump lovie this offseason if he fails. I think he has two years honestly. But if by chance he is fired after this year it would be a good year to do it cause allot of our staple defense players are old, cuttable, or out of contract after this year. So with a new coach we wont be stuck with many players that dont fit a different system. But I still dont think it happens

I agree with you, I don't think it will happen. And it shouldn't happen. Not drafting any oline players for a team that has the 31st and 32nd rated oline the past two years - that's not on Lovie Smith. He's not the GM.

Lovie's clock management turns me into a raging lunatic, his challenge flag discipline is ruled by his passion rather than rational thought. I do like the fact his players love him; to me, this is critical to player performance.

All the more reason we need to get a Bears/Packers game in Denmark (A great road trip for all of us here to look forward to).
