I think Sanz not being our number one will make it even better for him to go out there and earn his spot when he's out there.
Ric I think it's as much or more this than anything else. Davis is still one of the top STeams guys in the league but if the injury was gonna keep him out then there was no reason to keep him. Purely as a WR Sanz is the better choice. Purely as a STeams guy Davis is a better choice.Originally Posted by Riczaj01
At his age I doubt anyone picks him up right away if at all but you never know what will happen when teams get into injury problems. If we end up needing STeams help and he's still unsigned after he recovers they may take a look at him again later this year.
I'm pleased that Sanz is sticking around. I've said all along that we'd regret it if we cut him. He'll get his shot at becoming a STeams demon now and knowing the gutsy way the kid plays I can see him doing just that. We also keep a very good backup slot guy to play behind Bennett.
To me it hasn't been Sanz vs Davis anyway. It's been Davis vs Frey, McCoy or Wilhite.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

+1 .. although that one TD catch he made over the middle last year was phenomenal ( and it shows what he's capable of ) . Hopefully he can relax and concentrate this year and make the kinds of catches he made at THE Ohio State or his career might be Not For Long.

good to read this. Sanz improved and will only improve knowing the league better, having a full offseason and an easier game plan to learn. Drops aren't only a reason because of lack of skill
I wouldn't worry about his drops to much, try and find a unfa rook that did more then he did last year. The fact that he saw the field and made a contribution at all is amazing considering he had no training camp. The fact that he lacked some concentration is to be expected. I think when he gets on the field you'll see him do much better....lot better then Davis.
