but the NFL cannot look at it as a money making venture, it won't be. Like the WNBA, the NBA is losing money on that, but they keep it around for good PR and tax write offs, not for profit.
No the NFL owners look at college football as it's "no cost to us" farm system, not the fans. At least not this fan. Major college football is it's own profit center for colleges and universities. It can stand alone quite nicely but NFL minor league franchise most likely will not.

I never said a minor league had to operate profitably even though it may. If the league breaks even or loses very little and can sustain itself without major contributions from the NFL it will be a success. Now that we have cable sports networks hungry for programming I'm sure the owners could take in a tidy sum from selling the broadcast right to "NFL Lite" and still have some pretty significant tax breaks. Players are depreciable assets so the more of them you control the more depreciation you have to offset profits.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I didn't say ALL fans, but many do, most actually do.

I know you don't expect it to run w/profit, but apperently the NFL does.
