Wouldn't have been TOO much to ask to get a blocker for a blocker would it? I guess that just goes to show how few there actually are out there who any team is willing to let go. Except us that is.

After last night I'm convinced we need more CB help since none of the three who played last night are worth keeping around. Better we got something for Clutts than nothing and I'll take any vet CB who is better than what played last night.

It will be nice to have Okoye back in the shuffle. Its going to be interesting the first couple of games to see how Lovie and Marinelli rotate players on the D-Line. Obviously Peppers will be taking the majority of the snaps at DE, but I really don't think anyone else has stood out and earn their playing time just yet.

Again huge Okoye fan, hope he's healthy but here is another example of a over-emphasis over D line than O line. I wish they would at least kick the tires on a O lineman ANY O lineman.

Well we still don't know the extent of whatever "head injury" Price sustained but I think Collins is safe. He's played good ball and he's being worked as Melton's backup at UT. It's the NT spot we're having trouble keeping guys healthy at and Okoye can play NT.

The plain fact is that Collins is lost for the Indy game so we need someone to backup Melton right now. Paea still isn't 100% so you can't count on him, Toe isn't an UT and Price is now what? Doubtful? Okoye was available, he knows the offense, and can play UT too so he fills a need for now.

As of last night Jordan Miller was still in the mix too but he didn't impress me.

    Answer the question Shorty.

What FA or trade block OL were available last year that the Bears did not go after?
and same question for this year.

If you are upset they signed a DL guy instead of an OL guy look at who is out there (and available) and tell us all who they should have signed. Do we need OL help more than DL help? Damn straight. But if there is a good DL guy out there who can help, I am not going to pass signing him because some other spot needs more help. Especially when there may not be anything out there that is better than what we have (how sad is that?)

But answer the question Shorty. What OL available should the Bears have signed before Okoye? If you say you don't know, then you have your answer that there was nothing available to help.

I am glad Okoye is coming back. The problem is the same rhetoric. Look at the other transactions other teams do. OTHER teams w/better o lines. If I were to go back last year and study the transactions I would bet there's SOMETHING worthy out there.

I am pointing out over-reliance and over dependence in one area while another crumbles is why the Oline is in this situation in the first place.

How many seasons of "there is no one available at O line" is there really? What would you accept as evidence that there is a perponderance of over-emphasis on one side of the ball. I am no scout but surely there's at least someone they can kick the tires on.

Sorry for the opinion or that you are taken aback by it. It is only one mans opinion. I'm sure I'm wrong.

Look at last year, what FA OL were signed by other teams. Which of them had years to make you kick yourself over the Bears not signing them. Do so for this off season as well.

Yes, Bears place a higher emphasis on defense than they do on offense. That has been true for most of their existence. Outside of the Bears adding three outstanding offensive players (Marshall, Cutler, Bush) in FA/trades, more often than not they always depend on the defense leading the way.
