apparently he's a HoF FB according to people on this board. Best FB to ever lace up the cletes, no ST has ever been on the field that is better then him. He's also, if given a shot a great qb and one of the Best DE's you'll ever see. When praying on Sunday Tebow actually prays to Clutts.

From the short time I have seen him play, I think he will be pretty good. He is a good blocker, seems like he can catch well, and all in all seems to get in on the plays. He was one of the players I was looking forward to developing. A bonus for us is his exceptional blocking ability. We do not have a very strong OL and his ability to help protect was sorely needed. When you add in the receptions and lead blocking, he seemed like a keeper, but I was wrong. I think you will like him quite a bit.

Glad to hear that McMannis knows his way around the field. Personally, I thought we could have used a S more, but a decent CB is good too.

OK enough already. The deal has been done and it's now history. No one is over stating Clutts skills but you with your exaggerations. The guy is a hell of a good football player and I'm glad he's going to a team who can use those skills. We decided we couldn't use them but that has nothing to do with his abilities as a football player which are significant. Or weren't you watching last nights game?

Criticism like this leaves me seriously in doubt that you, or Benji for that matter, have any ability to judge football talent at all. You both make posts where you put your own twists on what's being posted. You both make exaggerated claims in your posts that no one else is making yet you imply it.

The guy was worth keeping plain and simple. That's my opinion and others share it. We've all given are reasons why we think that and none of them have anything to do with the bullshit you've posted here. You can take your dickhead hat off anytime now Ric.

No Soul, there are people acting like every TD we were going to get this year was strictly on his back; that every block that broke open a run play or that protected the QB was going to be b/c of him. That the HB's that Tice wants to use are clearly uncapable of doing anything to help this team, even though the team has CLEARLY not tried to show how they will be used this year.

There is a UNQUESTIONABLE over reaction to how important Clutts is to this team. Last year when we went away from Martz ball and more to a Tice/Cutler ball Clutts was not the SOLE, not even the major, reason blocking was better and the run game was better.

I like Clutts, REALLY liked him, I wanted him on the team; but great googly moogly lets not act as if our season is over and the O might as well not show up b/c the great and powerfull unstoppable Clutts is no longer here.

Ric - honestly do you really think any of these posts are implying that our season has imploded because we traded Clutts?

I think we all agree he would have been a good player to keep on the team. IMO, anything more being read into it is overblown.

No one has come right out and said that at all. But it does seem to be implied by the over reaction that has been spewed by many people.

    Because as Soul said

    Clutt is

Yes I really do think that there are posters acting like the season is over and that Clutts was the sole reason we were going to be able to score goal line or protect Cutler; and I'm going by their posts.

There are now at least 3-4 different threads dedicated to the mighty mighty Clutts. Most bemoaning the Bears now that he is no more. The Bears apparently don't care about blocking b/c he's gone; that's not over reacting? He's one of the best FB's...he's up there w/Vonte from Balt? Really? The cuts thread was taken over by the sorrow of losing a guy that rarely saw the field; that's not over reacting?

I agree we should have kept him; but he was never going to be the difference between a SB and missing the playoffs.
