If she likes upscale shopping, try at Watertower Place & then the stores on Michigan Avenue south from there. There are always fantastic theater shows (I like these as much as my wife does), and there's always live music of every kind at night. On a Friday night you are guaranteed to have some great bands & acts all over town. The food in Chicago is to die for too. Here's a good place to check things out:

Good luck!!!
They've had some iphone thefts along Michigan Ave recently. Don't flash your iphone (if you have one). Keep it in your pocket. The thieves can hurt you as well as steal your phone. Also, if you're at an outdoor table at a restaurant, don't put your phone on the table. They'll grab and run with it.
You wouldn't think there'd be a crime problem along Michigan Avenue, but in recent months they've had these hit-and-run phone thefts.
Bring lots of $$$ or credit cards with headroom if you're shopping on Michigan Ave.
Enjoy the weekend and the game Jim. :18_1_205:
Navy Pier is a great, cheap way to kill some time. Some beautiful glass artwork and a nice little shopping center and a couple of decent restaurants.
I was gonna suggest hit-and-run phone thefts, but it doesn't appear this board is ready for that kind of harmless fun yet...
Make sure to be set up to have drinks on the top floor of the Hancock building at sunset. Forget the tour, or do it earlier in the day, and go to the bar on the top floor. The sunset is fine, but the real sight is seeing the city light up just after. You'll even be able to get a view of Soldier.
One of our favorite places to eat is "Miller's Pub" that is not far off of Michigan Avenue. It's the best pub food I've had (the seafood there is also superb). The service is fantastic (old school, like you used to get). The prices are VERY reasonable. My wife and I like to stop here every time we're in Chicago.
