Man, I hope Paea can finally play a whole season without getting injured.

It'll happen. Maybe this season actually. Just think if we can get pass rush from both him at Nose and Melton at Under. It'll be hard to double team Pep with those two commanding so much attention on the inside. Then we just need our left ends to step up so the quarterbacks get hurried enough to force a bad pass or two.

I'm still waiting to see Wootton sacking Rodgers and ending his career. lol

Ending NO ! Giving GB a taste of the Bears woes sure .Something in the line where AR can come back for the playoffs IF his team can survive and make it.

I think whatever that head injury he got in the last game was all about it was that which sealed his fate. He was behind everyone else as far as being in playing shape and if he got a concussion that would have kept him out of practice and games for awhile longer then Okoye was just the better choice right now.
Hard to argue with that. AO showed last year that he could be very good against first team players and Price showed this preseason he could be dominant against second team players. Not the same.

Is this the same Okoye who was a part of that same interior DL last year ? The same interior DL who went for stretches of gameS last year and I started forgetting some of their names cuz they weren't doing anything ?
Yeah I ain't exactly splooging all over myself with this signing.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Hey when a partime DT (about half the defensive snaps) get 4 sacks and just misses at least another 4 by inches then that guy is contributing to the inside pass rush pretty well I'd say. He was certainly good enough to want back and we did try to keep him before he signed with TB.
Between him and him and Melton they had 11 sacks coming from the DT position last year and when you throw in another 2 by Paea that's 13 total by DTs. Even in Tommie Harris prime we never saw that kind of an inside rush and it should only get better this year and in the Bears defense that's the name of the game.
Don't forget none of the Bears DTs are all that big. Toeaina is the biggest one of the bunch at 308lbs. Paea is right around 300lbs and the rest are all less than 300lbs. There aren't any 330lb run stuffers there. They're quick and they're taught to penetrate to make plays in the backfield and get to the QB. They gamble on big plays and when you do that and you miss some get sprung for big gainers if the LB or Safety doesn't fill that gap. That's not all on the DTs.
The kid is young, experienced, he can get to the QB and he came cheap. Can't ask for more than that.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I'll be interested in seeing some interesting formations w/Paea, Okoye, McC, Pep, and Melton all on the field at once on passing downs.

I just read we are out the 7th round pick regardless if he made the roster. That's sure interesting....
