Now explain how players today are lying and willing to sign waivers to play; and yet somehow these old players were being forced to play against their will's and the teams were hiding the truth of how dangerous the sport was? The players today are building a case AGAINST the retired players lawsuit.

You admit it and or sign a waiver you pretty just took oneself out of any future lawsuit. Now explain how healthy older people get the same thing. Grandparent got it and didn't drink smoke and pretty much anything else BAD. But I am sorry to her your "grand mother" is dealing with it . It does suck, but I do have to ask, the ass I'm going to sound like, did she party like an NFL player?

EDIT I am sorry she does have it, REALLY am.

Some of it IS hereditary, some studies also have come to the theory that lack of activity(mental and physical) later in life will accelerate the issue, even w/out the drinking/partying. But those also will accelerate the issue. I'm mostly talking about the players themselves claiming a lot of their mental issues are on the NFL for not protecting them better. I don't know how much of that can be the case when you still have players today(w/WAY more precautions) still trying to lie their way back onto the field.

btw it's not my grand mother, it's my mom's husbands mother. Really never knew her. But I do see what he has had to do to alter his own retirment goals to make sure she's okay.

Your MOMS husband thats why I put it as "Grand Mother" but I did understand how you put it. As to players, the older ones, I do see THEIR points, and kinda agree, BUT with the modern players I wont be so understanding. You make a BOAT load of money for what you do in a few years, why is that , DUHH. They all are aware of the risks now and should think and plan for it.

To me, there are no grounds for such frivolous lawsuits against the NFL by these former players. There are too many factors that play into what causes Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia, or even what Dave Duerson and Junior Seau dealt with. To me, you cannot prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that head injuries caused these disorders specifically. People get concussed all the time, and live long, healthy lives after the fact. While I do admit that having many concussions can be dangerous as you are damaging the bone structure of the skull by doing that repeatedly and thus opening the brain up to physiological damage (see Troy Aikman), I just don't see how anyone can justify awarding player plaintiffs in the courtrooms of America millions of dollars on what is essentially an unknown quantity.
