Bears to the SuperBowl?
Being a Bears fan you always wonder each season if Bears will be on the super bowl or at least win the league. So looking at the new offense and defense of the Bears this season, does any of you believe that Bears will play the super bowl or win the league?
I personally believe that we will win the league and the team is stronger and more reliable this year than a year before. Super Bowl is a bit to far and not to mention that there's a few strong teams within the NFL, such as 49ers, Texans, Philadelphia, Packers, Ravens....etc....
What are your thoughts?

Here are my thoughts.
Each year there are about 4 or 5 teams that walk into the season as superior to all others and should compete for the title. Then there are about 4 or 5 teams that stand no chance whatsoever. The remaining 22 to 24 teams are so equal, that it all comes down to injuries and a little bit of luck. I consider the Bears to be at the precipice of that top group, but it's all based on the unknowns of our O-Line and a certain #54. With that said, I think they are still in that middle group of several teams and we will have to get incredibly lucky with injuries to compete for the title, but it happened in 2010, it can happen again.
I could be wrong, but I just have this gut feeling that we're going to be either VERY good (13-3 or even better) or really average (7-9 or even 6-10). In other words, I don't think we'll be a 10-6 team. If Urlacher overcomes and plays even close to his last year level and the O-Line plays well (not great, but just average), I think this board will be a very happy place and Lovie gets an extension. If our O-Line plays as poorly as they have the last three years and Urlacher struggles to stay on the field, we will have a shot at a legit Left Tackle or MLB in next years draft...to go along with the new coaching staff.

I think the odds are now 8:1 on a Super Bowl Appearance. As the season opens they have the talent to do it in all but one spot. The OLine. There is a lot of this season hinging on those guys being able to suck it up and play well enough for that offense to get untracked.
The rest depends on how healthy we remain throughout the regular season. Teams who struggle due to injuries don't make the Super Bowl. Maybe this is where Emery's plan to add talent and depth will pay off.
As it stands I think there are better teams but the Bears are certainly in the hunt. The key of late seems to be peaking late in the season as opposed to fast out of the gate. I'll take both but given the situation we have with the line needing to work out their kinks and a new offense that may take some time to hit on all cylinders the Bears are a good candidate for peaking late so we'll see how it goes. I think 8:1 is about the right odds.

Besides the OL, and BU, I didn't really like what I seen outta Peanut in preseason. I just hope it was preseason training. If not, I'm worried. I love Peanut, stand up person, just got that uneasy fell watching him this preseason.

Unmentioned so far is Matt Forte needing to earn his money still, I think that if he can run wild against teams who are focused in on the passing game and force another guy in the box we will have a dymnaic offense and team
I still feel like our pass rush will be hit or miss either they are going to be a relentless nyg team or I think we all are going to be disappointed and the defense will suffer

Which leads ME to question what I seen in Peanut.

I'd love to see it, but don't see it. Too many question marks. However, I do think we have the O for it. I always thought that the O would be our weakness, but it is our strength. I am speaking of our O less the OL. We have the RB's, the Wr's and the QB. I just don't think they will be as effective as they could be.
Also, our DL is still not dominant (at least have not shown it in the preseason). The CB's have me a little worried. Actually, the whole secondary does. The LB is iffy without Urlacher if he should go down or not play well.
It's definitely within the realm of reality, but some of these questions need to be answered with positive results before I think we can make it past teams like the Giants and GB

We might have a chance as the schedule is not so bad.. We have good teams like packers, 49ers, Texan to play but we also have easy teams.....Lets see what kind of job Tice and Lovie will do this year.....
