What are your thoughts regarding the Bears offensive line?
I see Cutler running for his life after every snap and being knocked out within a few weeks into the regular season.
Am I the only one who foresees this?
I apologize for being so pessimistic about our Chicago Bears this year.

I think you'll see wrong... Curtler will do great this season..... No question asked....

If you wached the Cowboy - NYG game you would have seen that bad O lines don't always affect a good QB and like it or not Cutler is a damn good QB.
It would also seem that we are not the only NFL team that is going after the NFC Championship without a great line or even a good LT

My hope is that we'll be OK. Not great, but OK, considering they'll get help (especially Webb will get help). Tice and Cutler know the issues and will adjust play calling & get the ball out of Cutler's hands quickly.
It's not a good situation, but it doesn't have to be a season-killer either. I'd be thrilled if the line was just average this year.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

The potential to perform well is there. We saw that last year during that five game winning streak the brought us to 7-3. We gave up just five sacks in those five game so it has been done. It also took a little bit to get the running game on track as well.
I'm not expecting much from them for the first few games. Tice and Bates will need to work around that. By the time game five rolls around they should have had enough playing time together that if they're gonna come around at all they will have done it by then.
I don't think we can judge much of anything for a few games. We can't even be sure that the starters this weekend will be the starters in week five. Garza and Carimi are probably the only two whose jobs are safe. If by the fifth game they aren't playing good ball then I'll worry a little more but for now all we can do is sit back and hope they've improved.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Honestly think they'll surprise people, also we tend to get focused on what Webb did last year (no offseason) and forget about carimi being back

So far they seem to be better than last year but only one game

Yeah, but another start like that could bury us quickly against a good team.

They looked good today. Webb looked solid. Also, the TE's blocked well (overall). Solid game.

Watching the game...they have def improved on Pass Blocking...they are giving Cutler ample time for the most part, having Forte back there to pick up blitzes help as well.
BUT...their Run blocking is damn atrocious. Not only are they unable to open up holes, the RBs are still getting nailed BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. I dont care HOW good your RBs are, if they get smacked in the backfield, it is an OL issue, not a RB one.
Still think we need a few more additions to the OL to make it a solid one capable of handling both pass and run blocking, but until then, looks like we will just have to rely more on the passing game. Thankfully we have the pieces for that.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.
