I want the Bears defense from 2005 and 2006 back to dominate again. Those two defenses were among the greatest in recent history. Both defenses utilized the same strategy as Lovie's "bend but don't break" Cover-2/Tampa-2 defensive schematic as what is used today. Why, then, can't we be that dominant again? Those defenses did really well against both the pass AND the run.

Let me put my 2 cents in here about the RB and O line run blocking. Too many times our RB will run up the middle when there is no hole to run through, if they would just try to cut outside a little the Defense couldn't clog the middle, but no the play called is up middle and by damn that is where their going to run. Its not away the O line sometimes its the RB.

This is just the guy we need.

I'll just give the whole team and A-. They weren't perfect but the were dominant.
I thought the challenge was a good. The spot was short of where the ball was at the end of Marshall's outstretched hand ny enough to have made the difference. He knew he was gonna punt and that I disagreed with but it was a poor spot. No surprise there.

damn right
my 3 big concerns
1.the opening 2 drives my h.s football team would have looked better. bad starts lead to us playing from behind
2. oline looked just ok. sure it was an improvement, but they could have run blocked a LOT better
3. huge holes in the middle of the D. usually in front of the middle line backer. we've had that issue for years, still the same. hence why even a rookie can put up big numbers
as far as our chances against the cheese heads. i like em, we just cant get off to a bad start.

Quite impressed by Jennings and Hayden. Sad to see Tilman go down with injuire, hopefully it wont be that bad, but if Jennings and Hayden can play like they did yesterday I'm not too worried.
Gotta say I had some serious flashback at the first drive to the Giants game.. but they turned the boat around, and overall the team did a really good job. They just had to shake the preseason dust off.

I'm happy and thought the Bears overall had a good game. But A, A+,??? This ain't grade school, it is the NFL and that was the Colts. There were mistakes.
Looking to Thursday... GB got beat down Sunday and I was glad to see it. The Bears are going to have to get off to a better start next week because the Packers are not going to want to give up a two loss start. Jennings did look good, but the middle of the field will need to be covered better.
P.s. Receiving core was as advertised... N-I-C-E.

What the Saints allowed GRIII to do...unacceptable...
What the Bears did to Luck...acceptable...
One out of context stat doesn't tell the story...he didn't do shit with those 309 yards, as his QB rating and the score board shows...as Jimmors points out, we literally, on propose, handed Luck a lot of those yards...
Besides, rookie or not, Luck looks like the real deal...won't be the least surprised if he lights up some team(s) at some point this season, I am just glad it wasn't us...
