One out of context stat doesn't tell the story...he didn't do shit with those 309 yards, as his QB rating and the score board shows...as Jimmors points out, we literally, on propose, handed Luck a lot of those yards...
Besides, rookie or not, Luck looks like the real deal...won't be the least surprised if he lights up some team(s) at some point this season, I am just glad it wasn't us...
I agree Luck is the real deal, but a ROOKIE. Whats a seasoned vet going to do to the holes on D is what concerns me. AR is much better. If the Bears can ( of course they will, it's the Packers we will beat ) over come him then my concerns will be ALOT less.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

and as a ROOKIE he threw 3 picks and had that goofy forced fumble that landed in Pepp's hands. So id say being responsible for 4 Turnovers is pretty rookie of him.
But, to answer your question...yes our real test will be GB, and we wont know how our Defense fairs against a good offense til then, but its not as if we havnet played Rodgers 800 times by now, so we know what to expect. Besides, if he wants to get into a shootout, now we have the firepower to match him.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

All true about Luck. But the Beras record against AR isn't what I'd want, I could be wrong, but he has more wins then losses. It's remimding me of the BF years. D looks good against the Packers, then I'll rest alot easier this season. Sure the Bears will lose this season, MAYBE, lol. Show up in GB and WIN, really , who can't believe in the Bears. Well except EPSN.

Yep, you covered it. That defense is built to give up some yards between the 20s but once they get in the redzone those null spots in the zone shrink because the Safeties can play up a little more. Rookie or not Luck is a good QB and playing for Harbaugh came into the league as well or better prepared for the NFL as any QB whose come out of college lately.
It's painting with two broad a brush stroke to say he shouldn't have done that well just because he's a rookie. The kid looked better than some ten year vets and he escaped a few sacks yesterday that a less mobile QB would not have. Those are some things we could stand to clean up. We seem to lose more sacks than we make but the pressure was there.

Yep, big game for both teams and this early in the season anything could happen. Both teams are still "finding there way" in certain areas.
One thing for certain is that the Bears gave the Packers a lot to look at as far as our passing game is concerned. Before yesterday it WAS all on paper. Now it isn't. They've seen what our offense can do so it's no longer eight in the box to stop the run and force them to beat us with the pass. If they play it that way Cutler will beat them over the head with it.

I would be more worried about allowing the rushing yards. I think I saw that Brown averaged more ypc than Forte did. I don't wanna see Benson running us up the middle all night.

I get your concerns, I really do...I am just not sure I understand your expectations...we were a 20-something ranked Pass D last year, and likely will be a 20-something ranked Pass D this year...those holes on D exist; some on purpose, some due to a lack of talent...and we didn't do a whole lot this off-season to change that...but, that's ok...our focus was on the other side of the ball...
We are not going to beat AR/GB by holding them to 17 points in the hopes we can kick enough FGs to beat them...those days are hopefully over, and quite frankly those days never really worked (2-7 vs AR)...
No, we are going to beat AR/GB at their own game...AR/GB are going to get their yards and likely their points, but we're going to get ours as well...we need to do better than 14 points a game vs. GB, which is what we've avg. since AR took over a QB...I think the Colts game showed we can...
I am not sure we are going to win on Thursday, but I am far more optimistic about our chances after what I saw on Sunday...
