AND the lions. But that's okay. It's the first week, they'll start losing soon enough.
What I would like is if we can take care of business on Thursday, we'll have beaten them at their place, and then we'll have a chance of sweeping them this year. Bear down and take it to 'em.

Don't forget Detroit. They managed to come from behind to beat the Rams today at Ford Field. I was hoping for a Rams victory, but the only other game that I really watched outside of the Bears and Packers games was the the Browns/Eagles contest while on the NFL Sunday Ticket channels. Outside of that, I didn't see what Detroit was like, but I did see where that jerk Matthew Stafford threw three interceptions.

The entire team picked up pretty much right where it left off last season. It's still far too early to make any judgments, but we still don't have even a semblance of a defense outside of CM3, and once again Rodgers is our offense. I saw far too many fans blaming the replacement refs, but refs aren't the ones playing defense. If you have to rely on them to win a game you don't deserve to even be on the field. All in all an all-around horrible showing to open the season. I doubt we see much improvement on defense until mid season after the rookies have a few games under their belts.
Having said that, the NFL needs to seriously suck it the fvck up and pay the real refs already. FAR FAR FAR too many horribly blown calls around the entire league. A multi-billion dollar industry and they can't pay their officiating crews what they're worth?

I agree. We'll see improvement on both teams, as the season progresses, and the younger/newer players get more game reps. On the flip side of the equation, injuries can take you the other way. It seems to me like the seasons will depend upon these two dynamics.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I'm keying on this Thurs game. I don't car how good or bad GB or Chicago play the week before - when they play each other, they both seem to give it their all and it usually is a tough fought game. I expect the same Thurs.
If the line holds up against GB (they might not have been effective against SF, but bet they will play hard on Thurs), and we can pressure Rogers to win the game, we will be competitive with anyone. Although we didn't look so competitive with the Giants in the preseason.
Hopefully we will win the game and continue to get better. I can't wait to see how we do.

Green Bay's defense was a bit disppointing but we must not forget that SF is one of the best teams in the NFL. Just because the Bears defeated Indy doesn't mean they have a real chance of winning their seond game. GB is gonna be even stronger after the first loss of the season. The offensive line better protect Jay, otherwise Matthews' gonna eat him alive.

SF has a pretty beefy Oline and a QB who has suddenly found some confidence (actually found that at the end of last year). Don't expect for one second that GB won't be ready for us. While we now have Tice calling plays, we're still the Bears they play 2-3 times a year and they are still gonna come at our Oline from 6 different angles.
We're gonna have to be effective at dump offs and running the ball. You know they are gonna dink and dunk us into a scorefest. No falling behind by more than 7 or we'll abandon the parts of the game that worked best for us yesterday.
