Worthy made some plays in preseason, but I don't know that he's ready for a starting role quite yet. I wasn't specifically looking for him in the niners game (mostly because I couldn't see specific players because I was watching from far away on a crappy TV) but I don't think he played many, if any, snaps (or at least he had no stats if he did). I think he'll probably see an increased role as the season goes on and depending on how he develops may be a starter next season.
My best friend and his dad are Ohio State alumni. They both will tell you that the Midwestern and Northeastern media outlets are far larger than the Southeast's. Michigan did a better job of PR with Woodson. There have been plenty of defensive players in my opinion that could have won the Heisman Trophy, like Reggie White, who also attended UT and had 15 sacks in 1982 in only 11 games. Perhaps the most ridiculous example of a player who won the Heisman Trophy when he probably shouldn't have was when former Packers RB Paul Hornung won the Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame in 1956 over another great Tennessee football player in Johnny Majors. What made this so bad was that Notre Dame had a losing season in '56, yet Hornung still won. All things considered, Hornung went on to have a fabulous pro career while Majors was a football coach in college at Iowa State, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee, but I think that had more to do with Northern media bias than anything else.

Well, in the last 4 games the Packers played playoff teams with tremendous defense and well, the 49ers. I wonder why their O wasn't explosive. They will be explosive again this year. Hopefully the first team they light up won't be us.

Didn't want to show the BEARS any game tape. Played vanillia preseason, and didn't game plan. Why practice in the preseaon, right? They just forgot they had a game before they played the Bears.. STILL, BEARS WIN !!!!!!!

One overlooked aspect to the Packers last week is that they now have Jeff Saturday at center. After a dozen years in a completely different offense, he was making calls for the pack against one of the best defenses in the league. Not that he isn't capable, just that there will be an adjustment for both him and the guys around him. I read in SI that he said the calls in GB are the exact opposite of what they were in Indy. Maybe that will explain a little of the problems they had, along with playing a very good defense, and a little bit of play calling problems.
No rejoicing until Friday, and only then if we win on both sides of the ball.

Lovie should drop Conte and Wright back 30 yards off the ball. Rodgers mid field accuracy is not the greatest, his long ball is actually a lot better. After rewatching some footage on youtube san fran were pulling their safties back a bit.
Lovie whatever you do if your up in this game dont let off the accelerator, just keep the pedal to the metal!

Okay, the middle of our line played weak at times sunday, and BJ Raji makes that a little disconcerting. That our TEs didn't do the best on blocking is slightly troubling, but they absolutely CANNOT afford such a slow start like last time. With that said, Cutler needs to spread the ball a little more, despite the crappy Packer secondary, and the run game really needs to be going early. Dare I say, we should get Michael Bush in early and often to soften those weak ILBs....
