A man , who has to talk to the 'computer jockeys' ...... who's 'work' , is to dissect something none of them can do ( be an ACTUAL REAL LIFE NFL QB ) and have no understanding about what it's really like to do a difficult brutal job. Then they got their wittle feewings hurt so ...........
So watch the MEdia geeks go straight back to 'the well ' ( the old we're gonna gang-up and pounce on Jay well ) with their columns and on the airwaves tomorrow . It's gonna be the same old proclamations ( couched in the form of questions ) and it's all gonna be " about his leadership " and ..." I thought it was an immature mistake to go after Webb " and " Cutler lost his composure " and just all the negative blah blah blah we're gonna hear out of them cuz he gave them a golden opportunity to POUNCE on him . A Juicy opportunity they are going to hungrily scoop up and run with --- with all their usual over analytical and over blown analysis of what Jay's state of mind is . All cuz A FOOTBALL PLAYER didn't come out of a locker room , and comport himself in the same way some calm dud CEO of some business would . Watch all the BS were gonna see written about him tomorrow .
The GREAT THING is ........ he DGAS about how he was answering and he knows how they are gonna take it - and what they are gonna say and he literally DOES NOT CARE . There was an obvious " fu " look in his eyes . I think he WANTS IT ( the petty columns ) to happen . It was his way of saying " I'm being blunt " "SO what ! " . U want dainty answers go cover figure skating .
Reporters are fkn retarded babies who are more worried about having their butts kissed , than trying to understand how a gladiator might logically react after his battle is over .
The papers and radio tomorrow is gonna be full of spiteful - " Jay's this....... " - BULLSHIT . Poor MEdia - it's such a tough job y'know .
I've never bumped one of my own posts before - but things have been over analyzed and over blown . Just like frickin clockwork outta the media .
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

But 'leaders' aren't supposed to speak up ... they're supposed to lay down . That's the history of 'leaders' . W O W

I agree with that frontrunner attitude...that when things are going well, Jay is happy and performs well, but when things go bad, Jay gets pissy and makes alot of mistakes, making things worse.
However, i still believe he is the QB to lead the Bears to a Championship, he just needs a better OL.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

Yep, as the saying goes: "Respect is EARNED, not given"

The line as a whole failed miserably against the Packers and Webb as the weakest link being targeted by many of us. I do not see how continuing to play the weakest link on our franchise QB's blindside is realistically the only option we have at this point... especially so early into the season. Da Bears have been jerry-rigging (angelo pun intended) with the offensive line for numerous years now and yes a four player swing is drastic, but I don't see how we can continue to put this current combination out there and expect different results (especially against the pass rushers we face in our division).
Tice as repeatedly said Gabe is the best athlete we have on the line and I don't see why the best player is not at the anchor position. I agree Louis wasn't the greatest RT as the season wore on, but I much rather have Cutler seeing the potential threat in front of him than with the current situation of him not having any trust in the individual that supposed to have his back.
Solution A... This was the philosophy that Tice was supposed to be carrying into the season (regardless of if it was against 1st rate competition or not), but apparently the bar was raised a little too high.
Solution B... The preseason game against the Giants ended all talk of putting Chris Williams back in at LT. Sadly he's a downgrade from Webb.
Solution C... apparently the only 'realistic' option we have. But who has faith in the man who went from non-injury IR for failing his physical with the Lions to being activated after passing on his several attempts then injuring his knee the next day and cut soon after. Just more throwing of other team's unused sh#t on the wall and hoping it sticks.
So yes... guess we wait for next off-season after another unfilled season, which somehow probably will let Lovie keep his job (thanks Virginia) and probably yet another offensive coordinator in our near future.

Ever think that maybe they performed so well because they respected their QB? They didn't want to let him, and thus the team, down?

I'm not disagreeing about the "weakest link" one bit but tell me another option...
No, shuffling 4 positions at once isn't a realistic option.

JC didn't pick on Webb for a BAD game, he picked on him cause Webb is a BAD LT. It wasn't one game ,it's been Webb career, that JC is mad about.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

I'm not proposing the "same 5 combination" as we currently have. I'm proposing CW at LG and Spencer on the bench. We did pretty well mid-last year with basically that combination (even with Carimi out).
Option A (yeah this is a bitter pill I know) is the only option I see as plausible. It hasn't yet been tried (properly). Tice utterly fucked that up last game and we all know it. He pulled a "Martz Jr" there and forgot all the lessons we had learned the hard way the last 2 seasons just because Webb had a nice game vs 2nd rate competition week 1 and Jay had fun airing it out to his new toys. Really pisses me off how short the memories of our OCs get after we have a nice passing game against a shit team. Everything suddenly gets forgotten and we re-invent the wheel all over again.
I threw Options B & C out there mainly as straw men...CW is a shit LT (yes, worse than Webb) and I doubt Scott is anything better.
I'm afraid you're right on the last point. There's nothing personnel-upgrade-wise Emery can do until then and he accomplished all he could last year in other needed areas. We were counting on Webb coming into his own in his 3rd year and last week showed that probably ain't ever gonna happen. As far as a new OC goes, I'll give Tice a chance to show that he can learn (re-learn actually) faster than Mad Martz ever did, but if he doesn't adjust a lot faster and more wisely, then I'm all for showing him the door too.
