Earlier in the week, a confident Jay Cutler wished the Packers’ defensive backs “good luck” in trying to match up physically in man coverage with a new-look wide receiver corps led by Marshall. Stalked by Tramon Williams for much of the night, Marshall was targeted just five times and finished with two catches for 24 yards. And he couldn’t convert his one big opportunity, dropping a potential touchdown in the third quarter of the Bears’ 23-10 loss to the Packers on Thursday night. Charles Woodson said the Packers took note of Cutler’s quote.
“It was everywhere,” Woodson said. “You know how it is. Once you make a statement these days, it doesn’t take long for it to travel and get to you.” Moments after the game, Woodson told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols: “Heard some talk out of the Bears: Packers secondary not working coverage, bigger receivers ... we heard about it. We understand that Jay is excited about his new weapons, but it’s the same old Jay. We don’t need luck. Jay will throw us the ball.” Cutler shrugged off any potential fallout from his comment, noting that the Packers didn’t play much man coverage.
“They didn’t play man, so why would they say anything?” said Cutler, who was sacked seven times and finished with a 28.2 passer rating, the second worst of his career.
Jay just STFU. You got your ass beat last night. I don't care what coverage they played. Marshall had two catches. lol.

I would have rather he kept his mouth shut whether it's truth or not. One good game after getting shitkicked last week and all of last season doesn't give you the right to talk, I'm sorry to say. Shut up and play defense like you did this game and everything else takes care of itself.
He won 3 SB's with guys like Deion Branch, David Patton and David Givens. Almost made another one with Rache Caldwell, Doug Gabriel and Jabar Gafney. Please do not mention Tom Brady in the same sentence with Jay Cutler. One's going to the Hall of Fame and the other is not. One's a winner and one's a loser.
One has a way better OL one doesn't. One runs for his life, one doesn't.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

Meh, don't worry about skins fans. Trust me, I live around them and have been forced to watch their games & listen to their broadcasts for years. They don't care enough to get down on their teams....they just stop watching and pick "this year's team to watch". They are loyal, in that they come back for the abuse year in and year out, but by week 8....crickets.

Watch a replay of the game and every time Jay drops back to pass, count 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi, 3 mississippi. Every single time you do that, you will see that he is still holding the ball.
And JJ30 is right, players were open on most plays, but he was fixated on Marshall who was doubled all game.
There is plenty of room to blame, but this was one of those 2-3 games a year that Cutler loses his composure, and the result will always be sacks and interceptions.
I don't want to "get rid of him", but I do think he deserves the criticism. Not for speaking his mind or bumping Webb, but rather for losing the game by losing his composure and pressing.

Well this is "dump Cutler" talk is pretty simple to comment on.
Those of you who think THAT's the root of the problem don't know a fucking thing about football other than how to turn the game on, open a beer and bag of chips and then bitch at the QB if things don't go right.
If you watched him carve up the Colts last week when he had protection then maybe you might reasonably come to the conclusion that just the opposite might happen when he doesn't. On the offensive side of the ball blocking comes before anything else just like tackling does on the defensive side of the ball.
There were many things to find fault with last night but Cutler was pretty low on the list of priorities. Start with a poor game plan and poor adjustments, add a large helping of shitty blocking, a 4 cups of his receivers failing to make big catches and then you can add a few spoonfuls of some poor decision making when he was trying to make something happen.
If you really want to bitch about QBs please take you asses to the Arizona board or the Cleveland board where a QB problem really does exist. We don't have one in Chicago.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
Honey Badger Don't Care. Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit.
I have not seen one post where someone said we need to move on from Cutler though. But we will never pass GB if he continues to crap the bed every time he gets pressured early. Again rodgers pressured all night too, and he didn't have a great game, but he didn't pee down his leg either. Cutler did.
Let start here, Jay you cant act the way you did on the sideline.... it was un-excusable and if i were lovie id fine him for it.
Jesus Christ, gimmie a break. There's nothing wrong with telling Webb to do his freaking job. Remember that argument Peyton Manning had with Jeff Saturday during a Monday Night game against the Rams in '05? Remember Brady's heated conversation with OC Bill O'Brien?
The gameplan was designed for him to take those 97 step drops which means the oline has to protect longer. If that's not happening, that's not on Cutler all the time. He should be upset, he should be bothered. Don't forget that when the offense is on the field the quarterback is the boss. And as a player you do exactly what your QB tells you to do. When you're at the office and your boss comes in and gives you orders you shut up and do your work.
When Manning, Brady, Rodgers and Co. start yelling at teammates it's okay, but when Jay starts losing his temper after all the hits he's taken over the last three seasons it's unexcusable?! Please, STFU.
Jay didn't play well at all, I agree. He was nervous, made some bad decisions but he has the right to be pissed at the offensive line.
And here's the proof things like that happen on other teams, too.
I'm posting this in reply to what I believe is a strongly over-reaction to a bad game by our QB tonight. It's been said we should move on from him. Yeah, it was a bad game, a really bad one by the offense, but on what are we basing the need to look elsewhere? Last year he orchestrated 6 30+ games, and that was with sub-par receivers. Yes, we lost AGAIN, to the packers, but do you really see this as a sign of our 2012 downfall? I pointed out between the first two games, that last year we played GREAT in the first game, only to come up lame in the 2nd and 3rd games. That seems to be more of a coaching issue than anything, really.
But what's this with his inability to show up in big games? What is this based on? His time in Vanderbilt, Denver or the NFCC? I believe(d) those issues were resolved when he showed us that, given the time and weapons he's actually someone that could keep us in games. While we're on the NFCC, don't forget Hester dropped a couple of TD passes that could've changed that outcome really easily.
Going back to tonight, the controversial INT was clearly NOT one, and it put us behind the 8-ball immediately. The offense just couldn't get in sync with each other and Bennett was off spot on the second INT. Remember Davis being in the wrong spot last week, and Cutler throwing to where he SHOULD have been. Looks like Drake needs a little talking to.
I will fault him, as I did for the colts game, for looking down his "go to" target too much, but this is a semi new offense, with a lot of new personnel, so we should give them time to click and find the right strategy to start the game, which sets the tempo throughout (hint: it involves more of Bush and Forte than deep passes quickly).
Just a bunch of random thoughts on the issue, but if we get rid of Cutler, should we trade up to get Barkley (USC QBs are not all that tempting), or if Romo becomes available, should we pay top dollar for him?
There will be up and down games throughout the season, hopefully none as bad as this (and if you think on it, if this is a horrible game from him, it's a step up from some of his bad games from seasons past), but I have a feeling this topic, replacing Cutler, shouldn't be given much consideration.
Not considering the latter one bit. Refer to the Biggs "Ten Thoughts" thread for the former.
Calling last night a "step up" from Cutler merely because he was perhaps slightly less horrible and out-matched by Rodgers than he has been in years past is looking for an imaginary silver lining where there wasn't one. The "new" Bears offense (players and coaches) got completely schooled last night in every facet and Jay was a big part of the reason why. Not the only thing, not soley responsible, but a big part, don't kid yourself that it was "all Webb's fault", as bad as he was.
