    Jay Cutler

I'm posting this in reply to what I believe is a strongly over-reaction to a bad game by our QB tonight. It's been said we should move on from him. Yeah, it was a bad game, a really bad one by the offense, but on what are we basing the need to look elsewhere? Last year he orchestrated 6 30+ games, and that was with sub-par receivers. Yes, we lost AGAIN, to the packers, but do you really see this as a sign of our 2012 downfall? I pointed out between the first two games, that last year we played GREAT in the first game, only to come up lame in the 2nd and 3rd games. That seems to be more of a coaching issue than anything, really.

But what's this with his inability to show up in big games? What is this based on? His time in Vanderbilt, Denver or the NFCC? I believe(d) those issues were resolved when he showed us that, given the time and weapons he's actually someone that could keep us in games. While we're on the NFCC, don't forget Hester dropped a couple of TD passes that could've changed that outcome really easily.

Going back to tonight, the controversial INT was clearly NOT one, and it put us behind the 8-ball immediately. The offense just couldn't get in sync with each other and Bennett was off spot on the second INT. Remember Davis being in the wrong spot last week, and Cutler throwing to where he SHOULD have been. Looks like Drake needs a little talking to.

I will fault him, as I did for the colts game, for looking down his "go to" target too much, but this is a semi new offense, with a lot of new personnel, so we should give them time to click and find the right strategy to start the game, which sets the tempo throughout (hint: it involves more of Bush and Forte than deep passes quickly).

Just a bunch of random thoughts on the issue, but if we get rid of Cutler, should we trade up to get Barkley (USC QBs are not all that tempting), or if Romo becomes available, should we pay top dollar for him?

There will be up and down games throughout the season, hopefully none as bad as this (and if you think on it, if this is a horrible game from him, it's a step up from some of his bad games from seasons past), but I have a feeling this topic, replacing Cutler, shouldn't be given much consideration.

I think the "move on" talk about Cutler is way premature.

But..we should bench his ass whenever we play Green Bay. Jay likes to do his best Rex Grossman impersonation whenever he faces the Packers.
    I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

Yea, because Brandon dropping a TD passes, and a couple of picks due to crap route running by receivers should be enough to start up the "get rid of the QB" talk for the short bus riders.

Cutler didn't have a good game, granted. But, he had a good enough game IF the rest of the offense had even partially been competent.

It also helps that whenever he drops back to pass he has defenders within arms length pretty much instantly a good portion of the time. It's been like that his entire career in Chicago. Not many QBs are going to be successful behind a line like that, and it's actually fairly impressive that he's lasted as long and done as well as he has. I know if it was me after being battered behind that patchwork line for this long I would be hearing footsteps on every single play even if the entire defense dropped back into coverage. He has his faults, but at the end of the day you have to put your players in a position to succeed.

Message: Welcome.
Jay got extremely frustrated today. He did not play well, but I believe that it was because he was very frustrated at the lack of protection and then he started forcing it and bad things happened. On top of that, the few chances he got people let him down. Balls were dropped that should not have been dropped.

I think the level of frustration was high amongst the team and they did not handle it well.

I also think that the question of whether or not the OL can protect Cutler against good teams has been answered - at least for me.

At this point I don't think they can and they are going to have to show me differently. They were horrible against the Giants and horrible against GB. They looked good against last place Indy, and thank God they were able to do that.

On to better things. We normally don't get much pressure on Rogers. Obviously, we didn't get as much pressure on Rogers as they did on Cutler, but I think that was more due to our OL than an incrimination of our DL.

They only problem I see with the DL is not being able to bring it as consistently as I would like. They were able to get pressure and when they did, Rogers didn't do well either. As a matter of fact, there were a few times that I felt that Cutler was able to avoid pressure on his own better than Rogers could and that has always been a Rogers strong suit.

The bottome line is Cutler could not operate behind this line agains the GB pressure. The line is horrible.

Well Jay went and did it again ( if u saw the postgame podium on Comcast ) . He's in a really bad mood walking up to the podium . Of course he gets some stupid questions from the MEdia-morons and he was giving Cutty answers : one worders , chippy with some others , clearly annoyed with others . A man , who has to talk to the 'computer jockeys' ...... who's 'work' , is to dissect something none of them can do ( be an ACTUAL REAL LIFE NFL QB ) and have no understanding about what it's really like to do a difficult brutal job. Then they got their wittle feewings hurt so ...........

So watch the MEdia geeks go straight back to 'the well ' ( the old we're gonna gang-up and pounce on Jay well ) with their columns and on the airwaves tomorrow . It's gonna be the same old proclamations ( couched in the form of questions ) and it's all gonna be " about his leadership " and ..." I thought it was an immature mistake to go after Webb " and " Cutler lost his composure " and just all the negative blah blah blah we're gonna hear out of them cuz he gave them a golden opportunity to POUNCE on him . A Juicy opportunity they are going to hungrily scoop up and run with --- with all their usual over analytical and over blown analysis of what Jay's state of mind is . And they're gonna rake him over the coals again and again and again .

All cuz A FOOTBALL PLAYER didn't come out of a locker room , and comport himself in the same way some calm dud CEO of some business would . Watch all the BS were gonna see written about him tomorrow .

The GREAT THING is ........ he DGAS about how he was answering and he knows how they are gonna take it - and what they are gonna say and he literally DOES NOT CARE . There was an obvious " fu " look in his eyes . I think he WANTS IT ( the petty columns ) to happen . It was his way of saying " I'm being blunt " "SO what ! " . U want dainty answers go cover figure skating .

Reporters are fkn retarded babies who are more worried about having their butts kissed , than trying to understand how a gladiator might logically react after his battle is over .

The papers and radio tomorrow is gonna be full of spiteful - " Jay's this....... " - BULLSHIT . Poor MEdia - it's such a tough job y'know .
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Its the media. Their job is to sell a story whether its controversial and truthful or not. In truth, Cutlers composure is terrible at times. Whether or not it has any impact on his game is harder to say. He does seem to go into downward spirals at times. The media takes this and runs with it because fans pay attention to it. It riles them up and keeps them reading/listening. The more hits their articles get and listeners they have the better for them. Its sad that it comes down to that, but that's what the media is all about.
