What exactly was new with the Bears offense?
Steve RosenbloomThe RosenBlog11:51 p.m. CDT, September 13, 2012
The new-look Bears totaled 47 yards of offense in the first half Thursday against the Packers, but that was good considering they had zero in the first quarter.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears threw for seven -- count ‘em, seven -- yards and an interception in the first half.
The Bears gave up four sacks in the first half alone. What exactly was new here?
What exactly was new here?
The Bears ran for just 40 yards in the first half, or five fewer than Cedric Benson gained by himself.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears had more false starts in the second half.
What exactly was new here?
Cutler threw three more interceptions in the second half.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears couldn’t complete passes to wide receivers more than once a quarter or so.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears looked lame on third down.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears defense seemed to be on the field forever, and no matter how tough it played, it got no help from the offense.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears offense started with play-action before establishing the play part.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears' play-calling did not roll out Cutler, instead leaving him in the pocket where the Packers could find him. Again and again and again.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears passed for 74 yards while giving up 52 yards in sacks.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears offense was a joke in Lambeau Field.
What exactly was new here?
The Bears lost their fifth straight game in Green Bay.

The play calling gave me flashbacks to Ron Turner. There was a lot of slow developing vertical passing plays. With as piss poor as the line was, I wish we ran some quicker routes to Marshall. Their DBs were playing off of him on the line for a lot of the game.

Think we may start trying to use the run to establish the pass, rather than the other way around?

We ran the football more with martz lol and cutler never had a pick crazy performance like that under martz. And the pressure was the same on cutler from the pass rush despite everyone telling me Webb will improve because martz isn't here lol
You see people it was never martz fault. Talent on this oline stinks. And the offense last week didn't turn things around until freeney got hurt which allowed webbs lazy ass not to look like midseason form like he did yesterday

Considering our line is actually 'ok' at run blocking and below average pass blocking, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Time to move on from Webb. The guy was a project at RT to begin, and someday might make a decent one for some team, but the fact they went ahead and moved him to LT so quickly is baffling. Hopefully Tice's hard-on for Webb subsides. I'd rather have Chris Williams there for now. He's never gotten a fair shot, IMO. At least Williams hasn't shown any reason for me to think he'll have complete technique breakdowns like Webb has shown.
Then adressing LT in the offseason needs to be a high priority.
Oh and Garza was hot garbage last night too.

Butka how do you feel about carimi at lt? IMO that was the mistake from day one not playing him at lt
The other mistake I see is why is spencer at lg over Chris Williams that just makes me poke holes in my head

The bear defense played hard again as the offense seemed to lay down and run in circles and scream and shout//granted the packers have big beastly players with bulging biceps//one thought 5'8" tim jennings didn't seem scared at all
