We don't need to adust haven't you listen to Tice our O line is ok. I am not sure what its ok for but thats what he keeps telling us. Maybe its ok that we give up more sacks then any other team all I know is Tice says it ok it must be ok.

I know that there's plenty of blame to go around with the offensive offensive line (yeah, I meant two "offensives" for a reason) and Cutler's problems.
But WTF with the playcalling and coaching?
When we knew early on that Clay Matthews was a huge problem, why did we not keep a tight end in to help Webb with the blocking? We have plenty of other good receivers for Jay to throw to. We didn't need to constantly use the tight end as a receiver to help open up the passing game. (Although Davis did catch that one TD, I'll give you that.)
We have (had) Forte and Bush... a very potent backfield. Yet, the game was all pass, pass, pass for Cutler. The Packers knew it, and they had a great day against our o-line. We should have run to set up the pass.
We're not adjusting when adjustments are needed. That's poor coaching.
And somebody needs to introduce the screen play into Tice's playbook.
We would have fared much better (Cutler, O-line, receivers) if we had just mixed up the playcalling better. And had a coach that is not so incredibly stubborn that he can't see beyond himself.
If we're going to blame Cutler and the o-line, we should blame our coaches with AT LEAST equal measure.
Thoughts?

I'm not going too far when I say Bates will be our OC next season... not sure who will be our HC

That is exactly right, Ric. Tice wanted to be all "Air Coryell" out there and stubbornly refused to go to Plan B after a couple of possessions when he should have recognized early that the conditions/defense required a change in strategy.
Running the ball with a few quick screens & slants thrown in was whet was needed to move the ball and loosen up the blitz and 2 deep shell. Not damned rocket science...
Amazing how week after week, year after year, our coaching staff sticks with what isnt working WAY, WAY TOO LONG game after game.

Not meant to be a cut on him (although he deserves it). but he may not be capable of knowing what adjustments to make. He is still an OC rook and in-game adjustments takes someone that knows it inside and out so they can recognize and make real time adjustments as needed. He didn't do that and there is no way to know if it was because he was going to stubbornly insist on his plan (Martz-like) or he just didn't know how to analyse and make those adjustments. I guess either road isn't a good road though...

MP, I think the words we've all used in recent posts are in no particular order, ridiculous, a mystery to us all, unacceptable, mind numbing, not rocket science & unbelievable. Ok, I may have added a few but all still apply. I really don't know if it's stubborness or studipity. I hope it's stubborness because you can't fix stupid.

I've been stating since last year that the way you beat these elite qbs and passing attacks was clock control and run game with your d also; that the new rules don't allow the d to stop them on their own. You see it with SF and today toy saw it with as v me.

Every team has a few turd games a year. That said , they better get it straightened out . There's too much real talent on this team for them to not be 10-6 ( or better ). If this doesn't happen (and there's no injuries to blame it on) then :
A: the players aren't as good as we think
B: the coaches stink
( and if someone doesn't believe B - then explain to me how Alex Smith goes from 'bum' to one play away from the SB last year and 2-0 vs. the Packers and Lions so far this year )
Use ur big guns - and don't try and re-invent the wheel .
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Who was it, last 2 years, that made the offense a run-first team? It was public perception that tice and lovie had words with martz over it. Many jobs are on the line this year, and while the half-time adjustments were weak, at best, i don't expect lovie risking his career for many more easily avoidable games. From a coaching perspective, is it Bates that has Cutler lookibg for one target every pass play? I don't remember him playing so simple last year.

I don't know if it is Bates or just Cutlers man-love bromance with Marshall. Or his stupid trash talk pre-game that he wanted to make good on. Whatever it was, JC looked like shit out there even when he did actually have a few seconds to survey the field. Several of those second half sacks were on him.
Funny how Alex Smith and others yesterday were able to hit slants, screens, and check downs even when under pressure.
