My Response to the Ten Dislikes I Incurred in Just Two Threads
Hello everybody,
Now that I have your attention, it's apparent that this forum has a gang complex in which everyone who disagrees with what I say likes to click "Dislike." This evening, I signed on for the first time in three days only to find that I had seventeen notifications, with ten of those being "Dislikes." You probably think that this is supposed to affect me, and you would be right, just not in the way you want it to. In fact, I COULDN'T GIVE TWO SHITS WHAT MOST OF YOU IDIOTS THINK. I said my peace with regard to what I believe to be the major faults with the man you all consider to be a football god in Jay Cutler. Call me a troll if you'd like, but I'm not through with you all yet.
You see, I think Jay Cutler tapped out in the 2010 NFC Championship Game. This is not the first time I've seen him do this. Anytime something bad occurs with this team, he sits off all by his lonesome and pouts like a whiny little bitch. That, to me, does not show courage or leadership, but rather cowardice. On top of that, he criticizes teammates in the newspapers and in other media outlets (J'Marcus Webb and the offensive line), and furthermore makes himself look like not just a moron, but a FUCKING MORON on national television by jumping all over J'Marcus Webb again for giving up a sack. You can justify this any way you want to, for when Peyton Manning or Tom Brady did the same thing to Jeff Saturday and Bill O'Brien respectively, the same held true for them: just because you are a football idol, it does not put you above the team, and no teammate should ever berate another teammate like that - only the coaches reserve that right. You see, there is a thing called ethics in the workplace, and Jay Cutler probably violates the majority of them with his piss poor actions. For those of you who fail to comprehend that football is not completely exclusive from said principles, I know little of what to tell you other than I don't know how you manage to make it in the workplace and not be able to correlate these ethical principles into the world of PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL. In other words, PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL AND ETHICAL PRINCIPLES ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.
I could care less what many of you people think about me, whether you think of me as a bad poster or not. It's been said that I tend to take the road less traveled with what I say, and those people would be right, because I do so and I do so proudly. You see, I'm comfortable enough in my own skin to not need the blessings of one or two really popular posters in order to gain acceptance. I have over 15,000 posts, and I know that I have earned the respect of at least a few people with more than a few of my postings. If not, that's okay. I'll just continue to post stuff from my own perspective, not from Tonto's or Kowalski's.

Then, and only then, will you realize that you pledged your faith into a person or other talking head who doomed you to a fate that is less than desirable.

I like you DAG, but if you didn't care , or matter to you you wouldn't have made a thread about you don't care. Look JC is and will be the QB future of the BEARS for a few more years. If he's the reason you think the BEARS are a BAD team, just go away and come back when the BEARS get a better QB ( hope you live that long) But to put it in perceptive, I hope the QB you wamt has the same quality OL as JC has, so WE may turn the table on you.
Fact WEBB SUCKS when he is one on one. Yet you give him NO help.
FACT JC does really bad in games when you allow him to be hit EARLY and OFTEN, yet they do nothing.
FACT The coaching staff is responsible for putting players in the best situation the WIN.

Dags, I think you are a solid poster here. It's just a touchy subject. Everyone wants us to win, and we thought we had the perfect franchise QB in Cutler. Of course NOBODY is perfect, and people are mad as hornets over the oline issue in general, and Webb in particular.
We're all just plain mad at the situation. The season doesn't look quite as shiny now.
We'll be fine. Somehow this will all work out. But FWIW, I enjoy your posts - even when I don't agree with you I still like your input here.

Dags, don't take all this personally. We all have our disagreements other things agree 100%. Consider it like the dust-up Webb and Cutty had and forget about it. Stuff like this should never bug ya and consider it practice for getting a harder shell.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Jimmors, I get really tired of people like what a certain prolific poster did insulting my intelligence. If there's anything in this world that I care about regarding the Cutler situation, it doesn't directly involve him -- it involves people saying that you don't know what you're talking about and then cursing you because you don't believe in what they believe.

Shoot, Dags -- don't take it personal. I'm sure that none of posters are having a personal issue with YOU but instead your opinions. I think both positions are correct. Just as you are going to keep posting what YOU believe (and you should), posters will say when they don't agree (and they should).
It's the backbone of sports forums. I'm sure that you have friends that have had positions that you don't agree with. Chances are that you don't dislike them but instead their positions on the item at hand. I would just say that if you lose perspective it's easy to take it personal and you shouldn't. Know that if you put out a controversial position (and especially if you are passionate about it or attack others positions), then you will probably get some dislikes.
Taking it out on the people that post dislikes is counterproductive (IMO) because they have just as much a right to their position as you have yours. I think that is the key all the way around. Knowing that not everyone will agree and being not only tolerant of each others positions but each others rights to disagree. As long as it stays polite and doesn't get into personal attacks, that is exactly what these forums are for. I say take a deep breath, recalibrate and enjoy!!

Scotty, I think you missed the main point I wanted to get across in this thread. Yes, I did speak my peace yet again about Jay Cutler, and I'm resigned to the fact that as of right now, he's the quarterback of the future. I still think he can win big if we get another LT and LG. But what I really wanted to drive home is the fact that there are people on this message board who, just like dabears54 did, seek to castigate and potentially even persecute others simply because they don't fall in line with popular beliefs. I agree with the strategy mishaps and hiccups you mentioned 100%, but my main gripe isn't so much about Cutler or his behavior as it is on how some people treat others. While I don't really care whether or not people agree with me, it does seem funny that I would garner a whopping ten "Dislikes" over the course of the past three days all because I dared disagree with a few posters on this board, and what's worse, I GOT CHEWED UP AND SPIT OUT!!! If I wanted this kind of treatment, I would have stuck around on VolNation.com and talk to a bunch of people who, when you bring up a point about University of Tennessee football being in bad shape, they simply reply with the glaring statement, "This is the stupidest post I have ever read in my life." When the day comes that I start receiving such replies as that, I'll leave this site, and I won't look back.
