The guy is about as quick as a statue out there.
He is not an NFL quality offensive lineman. Period.
Tice is enamored with his measureables - size, arm length, strength, etc. Then he figures that since he is so good he can take a guy with perfect measurables and turn him into a great lineman. Well, what about the other things that don't get measured? Speed, intelligence (that one does get measured), actual play and reaction on the field, attitude, etc
It is a good coaches job to look past the measurables. Hell if coaching consisted of looking at the measurables and deciding who is going to be good, give me a spreadsheet with everyones measurables and I can tell you who is going to be a hall of famer. Coaching is MUCH,MUCH more than that. Tice is beyond comprehension sometimes.

Exactly, measurables are only one variable in a complex equation, for determining true NFL talent.
I know a lot of people here hate Webb. I don't. He never should have been here to begin with. Just another Jerry Angelo pipe dream that never had it to begin with. Everyone hates him for not being a solid LT for the Chicago Bears, but no matter WHAT this kid does, he is not capable of being a solid NFL offensive lineman.
This kind of stuff (of believing you can make chicken salad out of chicken poop) has killed us for years on the oline. And yet we wonder WHY Cutler can't shine as a QB:
31st rated oline in the entire NFL in 2010!
32nd rated oline in the entire NFL last year!
Worse this year!
.....wouldn't you think the Chicago Bears would eventually "connect the dots" and "get it"??????????????????????
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Okay, just re-watched the sideline incident, and it looks like Cutler's screaming "GET THE **** OUT THERE!", and that smile, after the bump was def. a strained "Do you know what I could do to you?" We do J'marcus, and you've been doing it for years now.

I think every fan is tired of the yearly how do we fix the offensive line show//seems like if that's where it all starts what good are all the toys or players without a line//all the jay bashing (dj want to stay on the team keep it in house) is great talk but we or da experts aren't down on the field//after getting sacked for years it's a wonder jay hasn't imploded sooner//last time i looked he is still a human being//if webb can't or won't play get someone who can//simple the so called pushing frankly seems pretty soft compared to the pounding our two number one picks plus a third takes every game
