The impact today came from Izzy and Paea. Bradford must have though he had a pic of Paea pasted to his face mask he was in his grill so often. He was in on just about every sack even though the stats only gave him one himself. Damn but when he reads a snap count he can almost beat the ball to the QB when that QB is in a shotgun.
Some guys were saying they wanted to see more from him and I said wait until he's 100% healthy. Looks like he is. Paea and Okoye were the inside all stars today. Izzy did a great job and Pep, McClellin and Wooton got pressure even when they didn't get sacks.
The Bears line has 13 on 3 games versus 28 all of last year. And we're finally getting pressure with just four guys. Looks like Marinelli's work is paying off.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Lots of things are coming in at the right time for the D line:
Paea-showing signs of a big year
Wooton, quietly surprising
Melton, "getting it" and is in a contract year.
McC- spelling Pep and Izzy (along with Wootton)
Okoye-coming back and back from injury to help collapse the pocket
Collins-Yet to see him in game but looks to be solid depth
If time of possession can be maintained it will only magnify the D lines success. I might even venture to say that the depth of the DE rotation could be as equal or perhaps greater to say if we signed Mario.
THIS is how I've always believed the D line should be.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
I really loved what I've seen from our pass rushers so far. Everyone has made a huge impact. Even tho Peppers isn't on the field we're still able to great presure.
Melton, Wooten, and Paea looking really good. The fact that Rod Marinelli can put everyone on the field and still create good presure is something I'd worried about if I were the opponens HC/OC. Boy do I hope these guys can keep up the work and not get injuried!
