    What we learned

Well this was a pleasant suprise. The O was a bit spotty, but where they were spotty the D and ST's were spot on.

Chicago O: Using the run to set up the pass, and not locking onto 1 WR(marshal) allowed Cutler time to throw the ball and it was spotty, but they did move it, and were missing our primary RB. That's a good D so no harm in not throwing up multiple TD's and 20 + points(from the O). Cutler had time to throw and didn't try to force to many paces, still did a few times but every qb will do that occassionally, nothing bad there. OL looked 100% better and this is a good DL; seems they found what they needed, let them warm up run blocking, and use max protect or chippers on the ends to help hold off the DE's. Bells okay, but he's no replacement for Bush, who's an adaquate replacment for Forte. The WR's didn't drop to much this week, and the TE's got involved in blocking and catching. Seems Chilo was a good replacement, and Webb will survive another week...not sure how I feel about that, but I hope that rope around Webbs neck stays taunt b/c he's got another stiff challenge next week in Dallas.

Chicago D: DL dominanted, but that OL was missing(I heard earlier in the week 4 of 5 starters, someone said it was only 2) some starters so take it for what it was; but this is the 3rd game in a row they have gotten to the qb so it is becoming a trend. Jennings is the real deal baby; he's going to be a great replacement to Tillman whe PNut retires. Moore looked solid also and Wight/Conte didnt hurt us. Everyone on the DL showed up, and Briggs and Urlacher and Roach all were in on plays too. This was a complete domination of a solid O, even if they were w/a hurting starting rb and a beat up OL. The Bears made Bradford look very vunerable for the first time this year. A++++++++

Chicago coaching: as expected the StL team tried to get chippy when down and get a reaction, and only got one person to respond; Peppers...and it didn't cost, so no big deal. I'm going to give that to the coaches b/c it was stated they told this team to not respond...and they really didn't. The OC actually came out w/a gameplan that helped this OL, run the ball and let them be the agressors. This OL seems to need that to get into a groove. It also keeps the DL from pinning their ears back and just bum rushing these guys...who cannot handle it. When they were in obvious passing downs they seemed to go in max protect or used TE's, Hb's, or RB's to chip at the D to keep them from just hauling off. They also, finally, used Cutler on some role outs to again keep the DL guessing; bout time.

StL O: w/a beat up Sjax and a beat up OL their O looked bad. Also had a few costly drops by their other wr's. The pressure effected Bradford and he started making some big mistakes; and Jennings made him pay deerly for it. The 2nd running back of theirs...WOW he's shifty and quick; but they gave up on the run as the lead slowly but surely started to open up on them. Bears DBs vs StL WR's was an easy win w/no threat of a run.

StL D: Was just worn down slowly but surely as their O just couldn't stay on the field. The Bears also countered that QB pressure effectively and that will always benefit the WR's even against really good DB's.

StL coaching: It's a Fisher team no doubt, but they got really no big momentum from it, and the coaches had no way to counter what the Bears did.

So glad Okoye is back. Paea looked like he was back on track and we've yet to see Collins. Jennings for pro-bowl!!

Maybe. Maybe not. I do know that if we continue to change the oline personnel at this point, it will hurt our team. They should have had the oline set several weeks ago, long before the season began.

Now the unit simply needs to work together to improve as a unit. Five moving pieces working together as one unit. These guys should improve now week-to-week, game by game.

Spencer at LG was terrible. Rachal is a very small step up to bad. Cwill is THE best LG on the team and one of the best 5. If the talent level isn't there consistency isn't going to help as much. Just like chipping it does help but not to the extent of upgrading the talent.

Tice needs to get Cwill out of the doghouse and into the lineup period.

This is the only thing I disagree with. Jeffrey had two drops (one on a big play) and Marshall had two, one of which was an interception. That doesn't even account for the play to Hester in the endzone where he apparently mistimed his jump. That being said, the receivers played much better than they did last week.

Rog, that is all valid(i'm not going to put that one on Hester though, he's not 6'5" like Jeffery and Marshal and that pass should have been a little lower. But them playing much better was the real point in there. It seemed like they had 2 or 3 times as many drops last week. Thanks for reading all that btw ;p.

I do blame Hester. He timed the jump poorly. The throw HAD to be high or the defender would have gotten it. Alternatively, had Hester run one or two more steps toward the sideline, he wouldn't even had to jump.

you don't throw jump balls to wr's(not good ones at that) that are barely 6ft. Could he have gone after that ball better yes, could it have been thrown better also, yes again but only 1 of those 2 guys are pro bowlers at the position and the other is in his 4th year playing the position. hard to blame that guy.
