The owners get a good work product for a multi-billion dollar industry - for relatively peanuts.
You could use the same logic with the players. Say screw them, and get all replacements for the Bears. Get rid of the whole 53 man roster. But I like watching the best football players on earth play - and I like seeing them get paid well for it.

50 mil worth of peanutes is pretty easy to say when you aren't the one spending it.
People pay to see the players JABF, no one pays to see the refs, no matter how good or bad they are. Tell me when each team is losing 30K each game b/c people are fed up that the reg refs are there, and then I'll tell you that it somehow has turned in the refs favor.

Then I'm different Ric. Maybe I'm that 1% of the looney's who care about a job well done - even by the refs. Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you, regarding BOTH sides needing to compromise and get a deal done. I agree the refs can't have it all their way. But I disagree with you regarding the level of ineptitude with these replacement reps. I also disagree with you regarding the worth of the locked out refs.
But seriously, this is one matter we're not going to agree on. And that's fine. It's one of those things that reasonable people can disagree over. Hey, maybe you're right and I'm wrong. But it's how I feel about the subject. I've beaten this subject to death, so I'll leave it at that. Hope they get this thing solved soon so it's a non-issue.

there is no right or wrong about this JABF, it's all opinion. I'm not saying these guys are = to the reg refs, just don't believe there is this ginormous drop off. Their more slow then inept. But both should be expected for guys/girls that haven't worked this level.
I hope they get it solved also. But once it's solved its another 2-3 weeks before the refs get it fully ratified and then get the new uni(gotta have nike ref uniforms). Maybe the MNF game will at least get the NFL to get back to the table(they wanted to keep them out at least through wk 5, which is bs btw).

Again the Refs need to come off their stance. They deserve a raise. They shoudl all be making 6fig's.
but no to pensions
yes to full time refs
yes to getting ref training at the nfl level and having a reserve group that can come up and replace poorly performing starting refs.
You cant look at it in purely investment terms. If that were the case...why should they even bother to cut the grass at Soldier Field? A well maintained field creates NO ROI (it doesnt generate cash), and in the case of fields with natural grass...ends up COSTING the team money when they need to replace it.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

the field is a required cost Jimmors, remember a handfull of years ago, the game in Philly was called b/c it was unsafe; it forced them to get a new field in there. Last year at soldier field family night, it was so bad the team couldn't play. It finally forced the P&D and the Mc's to do something about the turf. but you also don't need each team w/the very best...see again soldier field the last decade. You just need something good enough; and that's all you need out of the refs. While everyone wants the best, it's not required and no billionaire has gotten to that point by wasting money on none essentials.

I don't know how a more clear misinterpretation of the rules could affect a game more than this fuck up did.
This is not a missed call. It's a clear misinterpretation of a rule and yet the booth supported it!!!! It's now very obvious the NFL is doing every thing that they can to justify using these incompetents even to the point of refusing to over turn not just a bad call, but a clear error in the rules on the part of the officials.
They're doing every thing they can to protect these schmoes so whatever little respect I had for the NFL and it's owners just vanished. Not only did GB get hosed but the fans are being hosed weekly by this charade.
How about if I just post this and say, "I rest my case".
Seahawks stun Packers in one of the craziest, most controversial endings ever

In one of the wildest finishes in modern NFL history, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate outmuscled Green Bay Packers safety M.D. Jennings to haul in a Hail Mary pass from Russell Wilson to give the Seahawks a controversial 14-12 win on Monday Night Football.
After trailing 7-0 at halftime, the Packers thoroughly dominated the final 30 minutes, with kicker Mason Crosby kicking a pair of field goals before running back Cedric Benson plunged into the end zone with 8:53 remaining in the fourth quarter to give Green Bay a 12-7 lead.
The Seahawks responded by driving down to the Packers' seven-yard line before turning the ball over on downs when Tate couldn't haul in a pass from Wilson with 1:54 remaining. The Seahawks had a pair of timeouts, and were able to force a punt from the Packers, getting the ball back at the Green Bay 46-yard line with 46 seconds remaining.
Wilson connected with wide receiver Sidney Rice for 22 yards on the first play of the possession before firing incompletions to Tate, tight end Evan Moore and then Tate again to set up a fourth down from the Packers' 24-yard line.
Facing a three-man rush, Wilson was able to give himself some additional time before heaving the ball into the back corner of the north end zone, where Packers defenders and two Seahawks — Tate and Moore — jumped for the ball. Jennings appeared to haul in the interception, but Tate was able to get his hands on the ball as the two fell to the turf. Two officials converged on the scene, with replacement side judge Lance Easley making the call on the field of a touchdown, which was shockingly upheld by the replay official.
"I was told M.D. Jennings had the ball," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said in post-game press conference. "I've never seen anything like that in all my years in football. "Very unusual. Most unusual football game that I think I've been a part of. I know it's been a wild weekend in the NFL and I guess we're part of it now."
And based on the NFL rule, it shouldn't have been a catch. And the fact it was a replay and still wrong, makes it worse (Let's not even mention it was blatant offensive pass interference). The rule clearly states the play was an interception:
Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneous by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains control.
Other Packers were more outspoken in their disbelief over what had transpired on the field, with guard T.J. Lang tweeting that Green Bay had been "robbed" by the officials before thanking the NFL for the embarrassing scenario. (Warning NSFW language)
TJ LangVerified @TJLang70 Got fucked by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl
Analysts including Steve Young and Mike Ditka voiced their displeasure over the call. Young went so far to say the officials are ruining the NFL and it's hard to stomach.
"It was awful," Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said of the call on the field and the replay. "Just look at the replay. The fact it was reviewed ... it was awful. That's all I'm going to say about it."
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll had a much different take, agreeing with the call on the field of a simultaneous catch. (F U Pete. I actually dislike you 10x more than I do the Packers. At least I can respect them)
"What a Monday Night Football game," Carroll said. "Tremendous night."
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

after tonights game... the Refs have way more leverage now. They will get their money. NFL can't go with those replacement refs any longer. this will only turn the league into a joke festival

And they are still making their money with the replacements calling the games. As an owner I would not pay into the demands of the refs. In my field of work if you go to the owner and demand a raise or you won't work they just walk you out the door no matter how good of a worker you are. If the fans want good officiating then perhaps they should pay the raises of the officials.

but this isn't just about money. if it was only about money it would have been settled.
