The Associated Press – 6 minutes ago
NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the Chicago Bears by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
---
CHICAGO BEARS (10)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 9) - Defense up to par, hope for same by U.S. Ryder Cuppers down road at Medinah.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 9) - So much of this team's fate depends on whether they get the good Jay Cutler, or the bad Cutler.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 15) - Comment currently unavailable
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 14) - Big win to get back on track after the Cutler fiasco in Green Bay.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 15) - No screaming from Jay Cutler this time, although the quarterback got a huge assist from his defense in a home win over St. Louis.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 7) - The Bears lead the NFL with 14 sacks. Pass rush wins in this league.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 12) - We're about to find out just who or what the Bears are. Jay Cutler and his offensive line go next to Dallas for a meet and greet with DeMarcus Ware.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 12) - Playing solid defense across the board while Jay Cutler struggles.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 13) - Unless Jay Cutler starts acting like a leader this team is headed in the wrong direction.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 9) - The Bears looked like the 85 Bears this weekend. Dominant defense and a productive run game against the Rams. A good way to put the debacle at Green Bay behind them.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 7) - The defense - particularly the front four and cornerback Tim Jennings - has played well enough so far to compensate for a middling offense.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 10) - They won't get to the top of this list unless Jay Cutler starts pulling his weight.
