Are the Cowboys gambling at safety?
Thought this might be interesting.

IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys will go into Monday’s game against the Chicago Bearswith two healthy safeties on their 53-man roster -- and one of them has only been with the team two days. Coach Jason Garrett said it's not safe to assume Gerald Sensabaugh will be able to play against the Bears after missing last week’s game vs. Tampa Bay because of a right calf strain. “We’re hopeful that he can get some work done in practice today and see how he progresses as the week goes on,” Garrett said. Maybe Garrett is using a little bit of gamesmanship to keep the Bears off guard or maybe he’s being truthful. If it’s the latter, then the Cowboys made a gamble in cutting Mana Silva to make room for punter Brian Moorman. The Cowboys gambled last week when they cut cornerback Mario Butler, who can play safety, to promote linebacker Orie Lemon to the active roster. It nearly burned them when Church tore his Achilles but Tampa Bay’s passing offense was incredibly inept. Silva did not start a game, but he did close the last two games because of injuries to Sensabaugh and Barry Church. Eric Frampton was signed Tuesday and will be force fed the defense, but he’s never been more than a special teams’ player in his career. If you want to read more into the roster shakeup, then look for more Brandon Carr at safety Monday against Chicago in the nickel defense, like he did against the Buccaneers. “We feel good about the combinations we have back there and the options available to us,” Garrett said.

Good read.
This is why I stated in other threads that their secondary can be exposed if we use the run to force them to stack the box. I just hope Tice sees the same thing as we do.

The Bears get the spotlight on Monday night as they travel to Jones Mahal to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Chicago hasn't played there since they beat the Cowboys in 2010. Since it's been a while, let's get to know the team led by Eastern Illinois product Tony Romo.
They are ranked last in the league in offense, scoring just 15.7 points per game. They're also in the bottom five of the league for rushing yards and first downs per game, but ranked second in offensive penalties and fifth in penalty yardage given up. Basically, their offensive attack needs work.
Like the Bears, the Cowboys are having problems with their offensive line. Romo has been sacked seven times, and they have given up numerous false start penalties. They are still working on becoming comfortable with center Ryan Cook.
Romo started the season brilliantly, with a win over the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants. He threw for three touchdowns and 307 yards that night but since then has been lackluster.
He's thrown an interception in every game, and didn't throw any touchdowns during the Cowboys' 16-10 win over the Buccaneers during week three. He also fumbled the ball three times in that game.
So why do they have a 2-1 record? Like the Bears, their defense keeps them in the game. They lead the league in defensive yardage, giving up just 250 yards per game. They've forced three fumbles and made seven sacks. DeMarcus Ware has four sacks and two forced fumbles and will want to add to that total on Monday.

I've got a lot of cowboy friends, and they all agree on 2 things: 1) Romo isn't "good" enough (I'd take him if we didn't have cutler, in a heartbeat)
2) Sensabaugh is a HORRIBLE safety. They make him sound like having the speed of a three toed sloth, eyes of helen keller and football skills of Rick Mirer.
With that said, They still have Ware, and this could be a game that Cutler gets bustled too much, and f's up, OR if they figure stuff out, could destroy the cowboys defense like they did last time (shameless plug: i was at that game. It was glorious, and you can see me in the background as the orange dot on the farthest left of the screen when Hester caught the TD)

Dallas safeties are a vulnerability, so is the playcalling and JC's route progression. The one that can exploit the other could win going away. I really hope ST comes up big-it's high time Hester brakes one.

Even with Ware we should have opportunities. Keep a TE in with J'Marcus to keep Ware off of Cutler and have Marshall, Bennett and Jeffery do what they do best. There should be some opportunities available to exploit, if we don't try the same crap we did against Green Bay.

Another stiff test for Webb and another one of the ones he needs to start winning. He played OK in game one against Hughes then stunk up the place in GB but along with some help comes back with another half way decent outing against Quinn. So what it's gonna be this week.
Whether Good Jay or Bad Jay shows up is somewhat dependent of which J'Marcus Webb we see. He's really over due for a good game against a top pass rusher and this would be a good week for it. That said I would not wait one minute to get him help if he struggles with keeping Ware out of Cutler's way.
With the holes Dallas has in their secondary we should be able to exploit that if we can keep Cutler upright or at the very least roll him away from the worst of the rush. This is a game I've been expecting to win so if Tice doesn't scheme his offense to protect Cutler and give him time to attack by air I'm gonna be more than just disappointed next week.

We might be able to exploit their secondary, and I think it will more likely come from the deep pass. As was just mentioned, Cutler is going to need the protection for that game plan to be executed.
We should however, be able to exploit their Offensive Line.

This is the last game I believe Webb should play, if he sucks, again. (Said it since the beginning of the season) If Cutler gets hurt, give him his paycheck and send him out the door mid-game..

I agree.
Tice KNOWS Cutler needs extra blocking help and scheme help. The only linemen who are blocking well right now are Louis & Carimi. The other 3 are not so good. We know this. Tice knows this. The Cowboys know this.
It's not rocket science.
