Matt Forte, Earl Bennett may sit
He practiced today (Saturday), so wouldn't you think he'd be fine for Monday night?
LINK to the article LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte (ankle) and wide receiver Earl Bennett (hand) are questionable for Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to coach Lovie Smith.
Chicago Bears

Forte participated in the Bears' workout Saturday after being limited in practice the previous three days. The Pro Bowl tailback sat out last week after he sprained his ankle in the third quarter of a Week 2 loss at Green Bay.
Bennett has been nursing a hand injury for the last two weeks. The wideout has caught a combined three passes for 32 yards in the last two games after posting three catches for 50 yards versus the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.
"He's been playing and just has to keep playing and doing what he's doing and he'll be fine," Bears receivers coach Darryl Drake said.
Smith said rookie fullback Evan Rodriguez will not play Monday due to a knee injury.
Rodriguez hurt the knee on the opening kickoff against the St. Louis Rams last weekend, returned to action for five plays, then was officially ruled out for the rest of the game.

The Bears need Forte to win this game .... IMO Lovie’s playing with the media as usual ...

Two of our best offensive weapons and the two guys who also seemed to get dinged up most often. What's up with this anyway? It's kind of frustrating.
The Bears offense is far from being capable of putting the points on the board we need to in order to beat better teams and here again we're missing two big play guys who can keep drives alive.
It's the pass catching potential of both of them we'll miss. Forte for his ability to turn short passes into big gains and Bennett as one of the best sure things on 3rd down in the entire NFL.
This frustrates me ever more than not using Hester as promised. Once again the onus is on the defense to stop Dallas from scoring instead of simply using our offense to outscore them.

Not gonna lie, for some weird reason, I think we need Rodriguez more than Forte to win the game. We need Forte more than anyone else to guarantee the win, but who's gonna block for the RB with no fullback? We gonna put Kyle or Spaeth or Christian Bale or someone out there?

If Forte can play he can help IF they keep him in to block whenever Cutler needs the extra time to go down field. If Forte doesn't play then it's gonna be up to Bush to help chip on Ware or we keep Adams activated and use him at FB.
This is where not keeping Clutts in favor of Adams is hurting us. These OC's who just have to have an over supply of TEs instead of a true FB is beginning to bug me.

Our best, and absolutely stellar backfield blocker, was Clutts.
Our #1 weakness is our poor blocking.
So, we get rid of Clutts.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Cowboys are saying they will leave 8 in to block the Bears rush on Defense. Mr Tice does it give you any ideas

Yea, Tice said, We'll force what we want to do, instead of taking what the D gives. We'll put a WR in motion to block, and keep the RB in too. The TE you ask, whats that I can't find one in the game plan. j/k

Didn't want to reopen that can of worms, but my thoughts exactly! Damn we could sure use TC's blocking over Adams right now, especially with ERod out and our RBs dinged up. Another stupid, short-sighted move by our coaching staff as a number of us pointed out when it happenned. Now it is coming home to roost.
I gotta believe Forte is playing and fine. He's been practicing for 5-6 days now and the reports from outside of the organization have been saying he looks good and isn't hobbled. This strikes me as just another Lovie-ism to plant seeds of doubt in the opponent's mind and planning. If I am wrong, I don't see us having much chance to beat Dallas on the road tonight without Forte.
