The main one is that our offense was completely stress free last night. The defense played lights out which removed any pressure from our offense to perform... which resulted in them play great... but the issue is that anytime we need the offense to perform, it collapses. So eventhough I'm pumped about this game, and think that it was a key game in our schedule, I still have reservations about the offense being able to step up when it's needed.
Fair enough and understandable, but let me point out the following that really impressed me about what has really improved a lot both coaching-wise and execution-wise:
Dallas came into that game AT HOME with a D ranked very high (might have been 1 or 2, can't remember). Think back to early in the game before that Tillman pick-6. Our starting field position was SHIT over and over. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we had started every drive up to that point from inside the 20 and a couple from inside the 10 (btw, the Dallas punter did a helluva job for them). Don't know about you, but I have become all too accustomed to having a near panic attack when I see us starting there...I start to picture some major screwup coming like a pick, a sack, a penalty, or even a no-gainer 3 and out with a tough punt shifting field position big time.
I was really impressed that the O didn't melt down like they did a bunch of times before this season. Moved the ball well--ground and air--playing mistake-free and at least got out from under their own goalposts. Even those early drives that resulted in only 3 total points I think were a refreshing change. Could have easily been punting to barely midfield or way worse (TO, safety). I really liked seeing the O escape from their own red zone w/o doing damage. Against a top defense, with a good passrush, and on the road...well done there.

Yeah, you're exactly right, and I had overlooked that from last night. Their punter did back us up against the goal line a few times right off of the bat and we were able to work our way out without panicking. That's a really good sign. I do recall thinking that the play calling during those sequences was much improved.
I just hope that it stays that way. Having won against STL and IND with a loss to GB didn't really have me very confident. That's why I was putting a lot of weight into this game and we did look great.
Oh, and I believe their D was ranked #1. That's what Seifert had in one of his ESPN blogs at least.

No, judging by his post, he hates pretty much everyone and everything about the Bears organization, has a very poor understanding of football and thinks Mike Martz did a good job.

Thank you.
As much as I would like to revel in last nights beatdown I cannot. I saw a game where the bears defensive line pinned Tony Romo to the ground. Pried his mouth open with the jaws of life and then defecated in his mouth 5 times..... guys thats a lot of dump to blow down someones throat.
I saw J-Cutty act like a cry-baby on the sidelines and play like poopy. He played like crap until the pressure was off, until dallas' Defense was beat down from so many turnovers that they just wanted to pack it in. You play different when you are that far down late in the second half (as a defense), which is where cutler got most of his stats. With how injured dalas is you better believe Chicago should go down there and lay a whooping.
Im just so disgusted with the offense right now guys. And mark my words, if things start going poorly later this season we are going to see the Tice/Cutler/Marshal situation explode. Its a powder-keg looking for a spark.
Did anyone see the post game with Marshal and all his "thank god" bullcrap? I mean, he was saying it in places where it didnt even make sense. He just wanted to say thank god a bunch of times. Hey B-Marsh, its football and God doesnt give a crap about it. Do you thank God after you whoop on whatever trick you are dating at the time? I bet hes real happy after you whoop a 90 pound woman and get arrested. Hes so phony, just wait, he will be trouble later in the season.

ANYWAY.....Davis was fuggin' amazing last night. The INT he wrestled from the cowboys player into a good catch was impressive, not to mention just about every other pass he caught.

I'm rewatching the game right now and the play just came on. Davis just took the ball away. He's big/strong enough that he should be able to do that a lot this year. Jay just needs to chuck the ball his way & it will be his.
