Let's give some credit to Webb
Best game of his career I'd say
He was matched up on Ware one on one often and played very well
No pentalies and the only sack allowed wasn't his fault
Very encouraging to see

The whole oline looked better. The Webb-Rachal-Garza side of the line really improved on that left side. Obviously the oline needs to continue to get better each week, AND they need to be consistent from week-to-week.
But it was one heck of a solid performance.

He still has enough rope to find himself on the bench if he turns around with an awful performance. I did not like Webb's play on the cutler hit from behind that caused the fumble. But he acquitted himself better the rest of the game.

I would say that hit was more on Cutler holding on to ball a little to long or not holding on to the ball at all. And on top of that it was a hell of a move by Ware

I'll give a nod to Webb.
I think he is more comfortable w/ Rachal playing next to him. I also think having the entire sporting world talk about his crappy play for 10 days motivated him a bit. Let's just hope that he doesn't need more motivation in the weeks ahead.
To me, the proof will be how he comes out of the bye week. If he regresses, then I've officially lost faith in him (and I've kept it longer than I ever thought I would). Seems he isn't the type who can be given time off to eat tacos.

I've been on Webb's ass as much as anybody and he needs to keep it up to convince anyone he's "turned the corner", but that sack-fumble was NOT Webb's fault. That was 20% good coverage and 80% Cutty holding the ball a full second too long. Nothing was open. NOTHING. Jay has to run and slide or chuck it away there. You can't expect any LT to keep Ware away for 4+ seconds every play.

even jay gave him credit but no mention of that by the media only the bad jay getting up off the bench when tice sat down//jay may bring most of the criticism on him but he had a great game bottom line//it's ok when rodgers gets on his players he is a leader but when jay jumps on his offensive line he is a bad sport//frankly don't you want a guy who cares and is trying to get better//i really don't understand the double standard rodgers cries about wr routes ok jay jumps on webb bad frankly how many sacks has jay taken in chicago// the receiver gaff a lot easier on da body than than sacks

Some of it has to do with the way the bears relate to the media. Green Bay, Dallas and others have a much more open relationship with the media, add in consistent competitiveness and you have a situation where those teams "get the benefit of the doubt" Chicago, on the other hand, keeps the media out as much as possible. So the media has to look at what they can see, and speculate about what is under the surface.

I said I'd give him until that game before I was done with him as our LT. A couple more games (especially the Lions), and I think he's "good enough". Just makes me worry about playoffs, tho...
