Not saying it did or didnt happen. But the fact that you didnt see it is really meaningless for one reason. TV, Internet etc.

When Walter Payton played, Sports Center didnt run 24 hours a day. There werent networks and websites dedicated to the NFL/sports.

For the most part what was reported back then was sports news. This isnt really news.

These shows need to make up stuff to fill the 24 hours of air time. That doesnt mean we need to buy in.

Was Jay a bad leader when he helped get us to the NFC champ. game?

Was Jay a bad leader when we were making that real strong playoff push last year?

Both by the way with sub par weapons at WR.

Since 2010 the Bears are 21-9 with Cutler at QB [4 games with a legit reciever and no Martz] whats that winning percentage?

No one is gonna lose their life in an NFL game brother but someone might lose their career or become paralyzed from a hit. The second has happened and no matter how infrequently it's happened it still has and can again. QBs and WRs are at their most vulnerable right at time they're executing exactly what they're paid to do. Webb is paid to block, Cutler to throw and Marshall to catch but because Webb didn't do what he was paid to do the other two couldn't. Live may not be affected like they are in battle but jobs are and so is the health of your QB. You want to lose him again this year because of a blind side hit?

The same standards we might employ with a spouse, significant other, a child or a co-worker can't be applied here. This is competition and players adrenaline levels are or at least should be at their peak. When that's going on you don't rationalize well and just take a minute to calm yourself down. You just react and that's precisely what Cutler did. It's a pretty natural tendency for someone in that situation. Most of us have done it at one time or another in our lives too so why is he being criticized for it when no one else around here is admitting to the times when they've done something very similar.

I've done it before when I was catching fast pitch softball games and a guy didn't cover the right base on a bunt or no one bothered to take the throw at second on a steal and the ball sailed into centerfold costing us a run. I'd like to hear from those who were leaders on a sports team who say they never got frustrated with a teammate during a game and yelled something to him while still on the field or the bench. Tell me how many times you kept that in until you got into the locker room at half time or after the game.

Man the press makes a big deal out of it people follow like sheep even without knowing the whole story of what went on. Assumption and nothing more. Man I'm gettin' tired of this crap week after week. The guy had one of the best games of his career with a 75% completion percentage, two TDs, no picks and a QB rating of over 140 and still there's complaints.

Until he starts walking on water and raising the dead some people will never be satisfied. :rock:

Soul, I'm not anti-Cutler. He's his own worst enemy in all of this. He's definitely the best QB we've had in years, and if he keeps on winning we'll all be happy with him no matter what he does. I do believe he's very immature. I can live with that. But I really am disappointed by some of the things he does. You won't see guys like Peppers or Urlacher or Peanut carry on like he does..........but as I type this I realize that we really don't have anyone on offense who is both gifted as a player and respected as a leader.

Ever since I was a little boy following sports, I've always admired the sports leaders who had class - like Walter Payton. That's my problem. I realize we live in a different world now. That's my problem I guess.

I'm guilty of beating the dead horse here so I'll let it go.

I don't need Cutler to perform the miracles of Christ. The Bears need him to become a man. Here is the difference between a guy like Cutler and a guy like Rodgers. I was listening to the Packers post game show on Sunday night (I live near the border and get 620AM) and heard Rodgers actually say the interception he threw was his fault. That's right....the NFL MVP and a Super Bowl champion QB admitted his faults. Please tell me when pretty boy Jay, at any point, admitted that the 4 ints. were his fault? Did he admit that the strip sack was his fault because he held the ball too long on Monday night? It's never Jay's fault according to Jay. THAT is the difference between him and Rodgers (besides the fact that Rodgers is a better pure passer and athlete that Cutler). We've got Favre 2.0. Strong armed gunslinger without any humility.

BTW...McMahon was a better QB than Cutler. Jim happened to be a QB in an era of run first offense. He could sling the ball with more accuracy. He proved it at BYU and in Chicago when given the chance. Besides, Jim, for all of his bravado, was seen as a tough guy and could meet gut-check time.....get himself off the canvas. Cutler.....well, you saw the NFC Championship game. Until Cutler starts playing smart football he deserves the same rear end chewing that he gives his teammates. If he was so well respected, why would Moore say what he said?

Matt Forte is a leader. He's more important to this offense than Cutler. The offense runs through Forte.

I am sick and tired of the media trying to create friction in the Bear's locker room. Now they are trying to trump up ill will between Cutler and Tice. I wish the talking shit-heads (most of whom never played the game at any level) would report the scores and then shut-up! Jay and J. Marcus Webb will establish a working relationship without their help, and the same for the relationship between Jay and Mike Tice. If there was a "snub" on Monday night (which I doubt), Mike Tice does not strike me as the kind of man who will tollerate that from a player for very long. The shit-heads should mind their own business and let the Bears work out the wrinkles by themselves.

Sorry but those guys are no different than jay yelling at another player and especially when is a player that is getting torched by Clay Mathews. I doubt any of the 4 qbs you listed have played on a team that has shit for talent until this year. none of those players have taken the beating Jay has over the last couple of years so I can see him venting on the field when he hikes the ball and has 1.234 second to complete the pass or run like crazy and avoid getting hit from behind.

Did you watch the Seattle v. Green Bay game? Did you see Rodgers yell at his LT? Rodgers was the most sacked QB in 2009. He, as you said, took a beating. Never saw him blow up the way pretty boy Jay did. Brees....took some beatings in SD. Manning's early offensive lines were abysmal. He took a beating his first 3 years. Brady...well, maybe not so much, but remember, he was a young QB that lead them to the Super Bowl. The common thread among all these guys....they conducted themselves like leaders. They knew their own greatness but are their own worst critic. They have poise. Cutler possesses none of these traits. Until he does, Cutler will never win a Super Bowl.

Other VET's forgive me here. JC's Webb bump, was nothing more then the HEAT of battle. your flank gets over run, you fall back, reform, then to have your flank overrun again and again and agian..... YOU WILL HAVE HEATED WORDS with said person in charge, in front of said leader.
