Major Wright Becoming An Important Piece On Defense
We have some exceptional safeties this year. In fact our dbacks are outstanding.

Coming into the season, one of the biggest concerns for this Chicago Bears team (aside from the obvious offensive line issues) was the secondary, particularly with the safeties.
The Bears began the season with a couple of youngsters back there, in second year man Chris Conte and third year safety Major Wright. It’s probably safe to say that any fears over the safety spot have been quelled by the two early on in the season, particularly on the side of Wright.
For multiple reasons, Wright has been a disappointment in his first few years with the Bears. A main issue has been his health, playing in just 23 games in his first two full seasons with the Bears. He came into this season completely healthy, and his performance is showing it.
As we all saw on Monday night, this Chicago Bears defense is still dominant. They made Tony Romo looked absolutely foolish, to the tune of five interceptions. Wright had two of those interceptions, one coming on a deflection and another off of an easy read to give Romo his fifth of the night.
You can tell that Wright looks more comfortable. He’s playing the run effectively and we’ve seen the improvements already with how he is playing in the passing game. After zero interceptions in his first year, Wright already has three in four games, tying his career high. That includes an interception return for a touchdown in Week 3.
There are plenty of other breakout stars on this Bears defense. Look no further than Henry Melton or Tim Jennings for examples of that. But Major Wright is quickly erasing any concerns that folks had over this safety pairing. It took him a little longer than anyone would have liked, but he’s finally starting to come into his own as a starting safety for the Chicago Bears.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I'm liking Conte too. Dude is always around the ball.

Major Wright is finally "getting it". With some guys it just takes longer but now his open field tackling has improved a ton and he's always around the ball. His instincts for the game have really improved.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

to be fair he looked good last season until he got hurt and when he came back from injury he looked like crap. If this kid stays healthy I have high hopes for him.

Ok, if you could go back and pull up posts from right after he was drafted I said:
He is a risk/reward type of player. As an avid SEC fan, I'll say that Wright has both been "my bitch" and "my master". The former in his early collegiate career and the later towards the end of his collegiate career. Of course, this is a paraphrase, or I would just link it. But he has always been someone who get burned on occasion and makes spectacular plays on occassion.
As he assimilates and gains a degree of comfort in the pro game, I have every confidence that we will be very happy with the Bears drafting him.
