Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he would love to play for the Bears the rest of his NFL career.
Brandon Marshall is easily the most talented wide receiver to ever wear a Chicago Bears uniform, and now it seems he doesn't want to take that uniform off until he retires from the NFL. Marshall and the Bears have only been together for four games -- Chicago traded two third-round picks to the Miami Dolphins for the wide out during the off-season -- but the early returns have been great and Marshall is clearly comfortable.
On Tuesday, he joined the "Carmen, Jurko & Harry" on ESPN 1000 and expressed his desire to retire as a member of the Chicago Bears:
"I continue to take care of my body and continue to do the right things on and off the field, I think I have a chance to retire as a Bear. I never want to make absolute statements, but I really can't see past this organization for me. I love football, but at this level and at this point in my career only certain situations, certain environments make it fun."
Marshall currently leads the team with 23 receptions, 39 targets, 352 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, six plays of 20-plus yards and 16 catches to convert first downs. If his career with the Bears goes as long as he seems to want it to go, Marshall has a great chance to topple plenty of franchise records along the way.
He is currently on pace to produce 92 receptions for 1,408 yards and eight touchdowns for the 2012 season.Marty Booker holds the single-season franchise record for receptions (100), and Marcus Robinson has the high mark for receiving yards in a year (1,400).
