Brandon Marshall wants to retire in Chicago
Good read.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he would love to play for the Bears the rest of his NFL career.
Brandon Marshall is easily the most talented wide receiver to ever wear a Chicago Bears uniform, and now it seems he doesn't want to take that uniform off until he retires from the NFL. Marshall and the Bears have only been together for four games -- Chicago traded two third-round picks to the Miami Dolphins for the wide out during the off-season -- but the early returns have been great and Marshall is clearly comfortable.
On Tuesday, he joined the "Carmen, Jurko & Harry" on ESPN 1000 and expressed his desire to retire as a member of the Chicago Bears:
"I continue to take care of my body and continue to do the right things on and off the field, I think I have a chance to retire as a Bear. I never want to make absolute statements, but I really can't see past this organization for me. I love football, but at this level and at this point in my career only certain situations, certain environments make it fun."
Marshall currently leads the team with 23 receptions, 39 targets, 352 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, six plays of 20-plus yards and 16 catches to convert first downs. If his career with the Bears goes as long as he seems to want it to go, Marshall has a great chance to topple plenty of franchise records along the way.
He is currently on pace to produce 92 receptions for 1,408 yards and eight touchdowns for the 2012 season.Marty Booker holds the single-season franchise record for receptions (100), and Marcus Robinson has the high mark for receiving yards in a year (1,400).

Well Brandon, it's obviously quite early, but from my perspective, you've worked your butt off to become a much better person and put yourself on the right path. Combine that with what looks to be a highly productive member of this team, and I could easily see you as a legend in Chicago, so I certainly have no problem with you retiring a Bear. One last thing Brandon, keep up the good work and retire here, and you could be treated like royalty. No other city treats their past stars better than Chicago.

It's always encouraging to to see players turn their lives around for the better. I really respect that. It's not easy, but when professional sports figures DO this, it's a good model for others who are struggling with stuff.

I agree completely. I admire the hell outta people that turn their lives around in the face of adversity. You're right, it's not easily done, especially when you have lots and lots of money and everyone fawns over you. It's pretty easy to get a God complex and pretty hard to overcome your demons in that environment.

It could be that Marshall likes playing with Jay, for Lovie, in Chicago. I'm glad he's happy. Hope, both for his sake, and that of the Bears, that it lasts.

Well that just crazy. When people retire they want to live someplace where it's sunny and warm in the winter. Places like Florida and Arizona or St. George, Utah. Chicago is cold and nasty in the winter. Why would he want to retire there. He could probably afford a place down South somewhere don't cha think?

LOL, if I had his money, I think I could find a nice secluded place on a beach in Maui. Chicago wouldn't even be on the list.

Yeah, but then you have a long flight to go see the Bears at Soldier Field.

Heck if I had his money I'd buy my own island to retire on. Somewhere just off the coast of civilization with a white sand beach and it's own Tiki Bar.
Then I'd invite you all over for one big hellacious beach party.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
