So we had company over, and I had to grill, so I missed most of the 2nd half(i'm the only nfl fan in this house currently). So this one will be quick, before I get started Thank you Indy for beating GB; wow what a joke that is, how did we get beat by them?
Chicago O: If this O keeps the game close or gets a lead, watch out. The threat of Run or Pass on every play no matter who's in what position(Forte Bush/Bennett Hester etc), keeps teams from just tee'ing off on Cutler, and when he's comfortable it can get ugly quick. Still went to Marshal a little to often in the 3rd imo, but it's hard to complain about that in a route; still would like to see Hester w/3-4 catches as well as Jeffery and Davis, and have Forte/Bush another 1-2 then the rest can goto Marshal. Hester had a hell of a grab, looked like a real wr in the last few games, now lets keep moving him forward. Forte gets 100yrds rushing and that's the first time since 06 we've had a 100yrd rusher and a 100 yrd rec. But it started really slow for the O, that is my one real complaint, again this O didn't get going until after the D scored and took all the pressure off them to score. I really want to see this O start off hot and finish through. The OL and protection calls were dead on this week, but Carimi needs to play better to make it work. I liked seeing A Allen getting his shot, he's a home run hitter, he's going to get short yardage, stopped stopped short yardage, then at some point he's going to break a long one for a td.
Chicago D: Don't know that domination really describes what we did hear. 1 or 2 drives right near the 1/2 is all I really remember seeing where the Jags really moved the ball. 2 games, 2 takeaways for a td, back to back games w/td's(not even 2) since 1950...and think of the great D's we've had since then. This D is really suprising me, I had no hope for the DB's to be this good, and it's not like we were getting a ton of pressure either.
Chicago Coaches: another great game plan; albiet a much weaker opponent(but ask GB how much it's imporant not to overlook a weaker opponent). Well balanced, again I'd like some looks beyond Marshal, but at least we went away from him early to keep the D honest. Great game all around. Again the coaches limited how bad Webb is and limited pressure.
Jags O: Bah, they don't deserve any conversation.
Jags D: Kept this game close until their O decided to make it a route....for Chicago.
Jags Coaches: not much you can do when your qb throws 2 pick 6's...the game was over after the 1st one. Game was real close up to that point, it was over after it.
