    Cops: Man cut Bears fan's throat, then 'calmly walked' away

    The man accused of killing a Bears fan in a Jacksonville, Fla. restaurant was seen by witnesses cutting William Pettry's throat before he "calmly walked" out to his car, police said this morning.
    Matthew Hinson, 27, "placed the bloody knife in his pocket and walked out of the restaurant" early Sunday morning, the Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "Eyewitnesses gave detailed accounts of the incident. Each described how the suspect cut the victim and calmly walked out of the establishment."
    Officers found Hinson in his car, still parked at the restaurant, and he later admitted to stabbing Pettry, 42, the office said. Police did not say why Hinson allegedly slashed Pettry.

    Poor guy. His poor family. Words can not describe the pain they must be feeling. Some fans take a mere game too seriously, and go way to far with their shit talk and extracting revenge for said shit talk, and shit like this happens. This is not the first, as it has happened numerous times, in numerous cities with numerous sports.

    When are people going to learn that this is just a damn game. Yeah, he was probably in Finn McCools talking shit before the game, but there is no reason to take anyone's life.

    I won't take my kids to a game for this reason, people get hammered and the have serious asshole attacks and fights break out. It is a freaking game and if it gets that bad I just turn off the TV and watch something else.

    Training camp is great for the kids. I do think that Soldier Field has gotten better in recent years. Not perfect by any means, but not quite as bad with fans behaving badly. I'm just talking about the noon games. I haven't been to a night game.
