Oline is coming together (Carimi did struggle yesterday though)
Every game they're looking a bit better. Tice is helping them too (some blocking help, and better play calling). If this oline will continue to improve a little game-by-game, then we'll be fine this season.
Carimi had a tough day yesterday, but those kind of games are going to happen with a guy who is virtually a rookie this year, due to last year being injured. He has the talent. Now, he's getting NFL experience to learn how to use that talent. In fact, he may be a LT of the future once he gets this year of experience under his belt.
Webb looks very solid. Even on plays without help, he's doing better than I imagined he could be. He's getting better every game now too.
Rachal is also getting better every game. Originally, I thought he was a bum. I was wrong. He's better pass blocking than I thought he could be. He looks pretty solid run blocking too.
Garza is still a decent center. Not great, but decent.
Louis is rock solid. I hope we can just leave him alone & not switch him to a new position like we did last year. Don't screw with success. Leave the man alone to excel at RG.

It would be a HUGE benefit if this oline can be decent this year, so that Emery doesn't have to replace everything and start from scratch. He would then be able to add a couple of stud olinemen in the off-season next year - knowing that these two guys would take this oline to the NEXT level. That is a night-and-day easier task than having to rebuild the entire unit. In fact, obviously, you couldn't fix an entire oline in a single off season. It would be a multi-year task.
So, I'm really hoping this oline continues to get better week-by-week - all season long.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

For sure I'm loving what I'm seeing
If they can keep getting better I can for sure see emery excelling with his flexibility he will have in the off season
More importantly, this offense will be a real force

It would be indeed nice if the Oline did improve over the season and we don't need to bring in Oline mens from both FA and draft. I really hope we can adress the issue in the FA because I'd like to see us going after the next Urlacher in the draft, if there is one.

I think this is Garza's last year. To me he looks like he's getting worse instead of better. He's getting pushed around, and his snaps aren't the best. With CWill likely walking, that's two guys we probably need to replace.

Would you dare say that the offensive line is gelling?

To be honest I thought that, but couldn't bring myself to use the word. But yes, I think the mythical "gelling" that we've heard about for years, is finally happening. Who knew?

Too early to say large improvement but I would say a bit more consistent. We'll know where it stands about 3/4 through the season imo.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

got to give credit to two things. One cutler lighting webb up might have woken his ass up to take things more seriously. Two Tice recognizing the weakness Spencer was and changed him immediately. Luckily his replacement has been a pleasant surprise.

It's only been a couple games but you can't deny the noticeable improvement. Webb has definitely played better and with more intensity. And Rachal has without a doubt been better at LG than Spencer was doing. Garza has picked it up as well. Last game our only complaint on the OL could have come against Carimi...when did you ever think you'd say that?
Cautiously optimistic...

Part of the reason that Webb and Garza may be playing better due to the LG being better. If the oline guy next to you is bad, it can pull down your own play. This is especially true of the center. Having Rachal playing at LG could be helping both men who line up next to him, to a certain extent. An oline is 1 entity with 5 moving parts. If one part is screwed up, it does affect the others to a certain extent.
