I like this Eldridge signing. I think it's pretty obvious that Rodriguez isn't the "sledgehammer" blocking back that Clutts was but this kid Eldridge sounds like just the ticket for that type of work.

Screw the pass receptions he just wants to go out there and hit people. He's more compact than Spaeth and he looks a lot bigger and more physical than Kyle Adams. Give him a number in the 30s or 40s and make him into a FB/TE.

Rodriguez should be used like the Broncos used to use Shannon Sharpe who was more of a big slot receiver than he ever was a TE. I think ERod is a good enough blocker to spring some guys loose blocking down field but he doesn't have the body type to be a power blocker either on the line or in the backfield.

He's another of Tice experiments that's gone awry. Put the kid back in place as a move TE/HBack type and get him out there in the passing lanes and see what he can do. That's what they told us they drafted him for isn't it?

That is exactly how I see it Soul. It's a great move if they use these players right.
