DO I think that JA is to blame for everything................Honestly no........................
JA had to deal with our cheap ass ownership, and I honestly think if JA had George then we would have seen the same moves as Phil.............
Because Cutler and Peppers came cheap?
Regardless, I realize this is a Angelo bash thread...but everything he did wasn't awful. He was basically mediocre overall, didn't know shit (can I say that here) about offense and couldn't draft in the first round to save his life. We moved from being a total joke to erratically flirting with respectability during his tenure. Multiple division championships, 2 conference championship games and a Superbowl. Certainly not awful in the new parity driven NFL, but obviously not good enough either.
That said, Phil so far seems to be an excellent successor. I believe he is the guy who can get us over the hump. His first offseason was tremendous. Marshall obviously, Michael Bush, getting Campbell to backup Cutler, hitting on his first 2 picks etc. The only knock is he didn't do anything to address the offensive line...but there is only so much you can do in one offseason.
The simple fact was that JA just could not correctly evaluate offensive players and was simply average in other areas as well. He did have SOME good moves but overall he was, as I stated, no more than average at best.
Well, at least JA got us Cutler and Peppers. Two very good pickups imo.
okay here is my take and the pep situation the HC and the ownership has been Defense heavy, and i remeber correcltythen Peppers was going to be bear anyway................EVERYONE ON THE DEFENSE LINED UP AND SAID PLEASE>....................
CUlter trade was simple he wanted to come here Denver was backed up and the fans wanted him ownership couldnt say no
I'm over that DB, but it's still fun to poke fun at him and curse his name:)
XxMidwayMonstersxX since you want badger me about JA’s supposed miss on Gronk in PMs versus an open forum
Tell me how JA knew where Gronk was going to fall in the 2010 NFL draft when he traded for Adams On October 19, 2009
Adams headed to Bears

Do get over yourself
Ok, this is the last time I'll respond to you.
First, I went to PM's because the entire board/thread does not need to see two people bicker about something that obviously no one cares about but us.
Secondly, the pick that JA traded for Ganes Adams (who was a flop/bust/typical JA move) ended up being traded to the Patriots. That exact pick is the one they used to draft Gronk. THAT EXACT PICK lol, there is no point in arguing about it. Its pure fact. Nothing more to say.
I have no problem admitting when I am wrong about things. You should take note of that skill, it is a valuable attribute in life.
You apparently want to beat everything I say to death and not be a man about admitting you called someone out and were wrong. Nutt-up sir.
I never said JA would have drafted him or anything like that. I said the pick eventually turned into Gronk. It was a basic example of JA continuously missing the boat on talent / giving away valuable team capital and receiving nothing in return. You are the one speculating here not me.
Because you are clearly not good at googling stuff, I did it for you, look towards the bottom of the page http://www.*************.com/forum/s...op-10-Blunders
As for those of you who give JA credit for acquiring Pepp and Cutler. Don't, Cutler came out of a bad situation in Denver where they were drafting guys behind him. They knew he wasn't the guy there and Cutler got pissed about it. The situation became toxic. He would have gone to any major market team.
Pepp was a good acquisition but we payed waay too much for him.
